J'avais hâte de faire ces deux choses.

Ce n’est pas ainsi que je voulais que les choses se terminent.

Cela dit, le monde de la F1 est petit et je suis sûr que je croiserai beaucoup d'entre vous bientôt.

Aux centaines de coéquipiers à Enstone et à Viry, je m'excuse de ne pas pouvoir venir vous voir en personne et vous dire au revoir comme il se doit. Comme vous le savez, le plan était de courir une dernière fois ce week-end et de vous dire au revoir la semaine prochaine.

L'année n’a pas été facile sur la piste pour l’équipe et la seconde partie de la saison a été particulièrement difficile, pour diverses raisons.

Je ne regrette rien, sachant que j’ai donné 100 % à chaque session. Comme je l'ai toujours fait.

Ce fut également un honneur de contribuer à la 4e place du Championnat des Constructeurs en 2022. Je sais à quel point ces moments ont compté pour tout le monde, et c’est ce sentiment d’accomplissement et de joie, partagé avec l’équipe, que je garderai en mémoire.

Je quitte Alpine/Renault avec de merveilleux souvenirs et la fierté d’avoir été le pilote qui a permis à l’équipe d’obtenir ses meilleurs résultats depuis son retour en F1, en montant sur les deux premières marches du podium à Bahreïn, en Hongrie et au Brésil.

Je tiens tout d’abord à remercier les mécaniciens et les ingénieurs de toutes les fonctions sur la piste, à Enstone et à Viry-Châtillon, qui ont couru à mes côtés ces cinq dernières saisons. Nous avons partagé tant de choses ensemble, et je suis fier de pouvoir appeler beaucoup d'entre vous mes amis

I was looking forward to both of those things.

This is not how I wanted things to end.

That said, the world of F1 is small and I am sure I will see many of you again soon.

To the hundreds of hard-working men and women at Enstone and Viry, I apologise that I will not be able come see you in person and have a proper farewell. As you know, the plan was always to race one last time this weekend and personally say goodbye to you all next week.

It has not been an easy year on track for the team and the second part of the season has been especially difficult. For various reasons.

I do not regret a single thing knowing I gave it 100% every single session. Like I always have.

I know how much all of those moments meant for everybody and feeling that sense of achievement and joy alongside the team is what I am taking away with me.

I leave Alpine/Renault with great memories and the pride of having been the driver who brought the team’s best results since its return to the sport, climbing the top two steps of the podium in Bahrain, Hungary, and Brazil.

I would like to first and foremost thank the mechanics and engineers across all functions at the track, Enstone, and Viry-Châtillon who have raced alongside me these last five seasons. We have shared so much together, and I am proud to call many of you my friends.
