That Reform would do worse is no justification for UK government policy.

How do you know you’re dealing with a predatory journal? #academicsky #polisky

☑️ Aggressive solicitation (often unsolicited emails)
☑️ Unrealistic, rapid publication timelines
☑️ Misrepresenting impact factor
☑️ High author fees (APCs)❕

When in doubt research the editorial board and ask around.

A good faith commitment to recognize Palestine would require the government to believe its conditions are reasonable and achievable. I don’t see demilitarization in exchange for a Canadian commitment as an exchange the government expects to be taken up.

8 months ago 2 0 0 0

To my mind that matters, but less so than whether the Canadian government reasonably expects it’s more measured conditions to be achievable, but also it’s more far-reaching conditions like demilitarization to be acceptable to any Palestinian government.

A key consideration is whether the conditions can be met, and whether meeting them will help the PA and Palestinians more broadly. If not, what does that mean for the Canadian commitment to recognize Palestinian statehood?

#Starmer offers recognition for a Palestinian state unless… #Carney will recognize Palestine if…

I don’t remember continuation of a genocidal siege being a condition of statehood. For that matter, I don’t remember democratic reform as a condition either.

Yes. “They also must consider taking direct action, such as trying to break the siege on Gaza by attempting to bring in aid by land and sea in defiance of Israel and complicit neighbouring governments...”

What is there to say. Palestinians in Gaza are dropping from starvation imposed by Israel. We witness and can do nothing.

The world's most famous medical NGO concludes Israel is committing genocide.

It joins a consensus of genocide scholars, including in Israel, and NGOs like Amnesty International.

No politician or journalist can claim "I did not know at the time!" to evade future justice.
