The students of Jana Mader's "The Courage to Be: Artistic Encounters with Nature" class visited us at the John Cage Trust today for a tour and discussion of Cage's environmentally engaged thoughts and works. A few of them even tried their hand at performing a mini version of Cage's "Inlets."

Angelica Sanchez' "Bard College "Spontaneous Composition Ensemble" visited us at the John Cage Trust to be inspired by Cage's many graphic and even theatrically mind-expanding approaches to composing.
What a great evening!
Roger Berkowitz, the indefatigable Director of the Hannah Arendt Center for Politics and the Humanities at Bard College, visited us at the John Cage Trust. Here's Roger examining one of the many Cage artworks here (this one is "EninKa, a monotype made in 1986 at Crown Point Press in SF).
A group of young poets, all taking a class at Bard College with one of our favorite poets, Dawn Lundy Martin, came to the John Cage Trust for a tour of our archives and a workshop on writing mesostic poetry and using chance as a creative tool. They produced some wonderful and surprising poetry!
The publishers of The Song Cave press—Alan Felsenthal and Ben Estes—visited us at the John Cage Trust. Stay tuned: an incredible new John Cage book is in the pipeline!
