i hate to admit it, too! 😁 i have so many more clever things planned, but decided at the last minute to shift them to the v2 roadmap.
the biggest reason came from our listening sessions. someone we talked to was doing a ton of work with browsers driven by mcp. but the impressive thing was that it just worked & it was kinda boring. "boring & useful" is a huge milestone for anything new. hearing that helped me see past the mcp hype.

you can ignore the mcp server api if you want to, but apparently it is popular with the kids these days. i was originally an mcp sceptic, but after a bunch of user interviews, i changed my mind about adding it in and making it a supported feature.
