This is is a SpaceX Falcon 9 Block 5 rocket launched from SLC40 (aka “Slick 40”) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Base, Florida USA on 24th April 2025. Bonus points to SpaceX for spot-on punctuality - it went up at exactly 9:52pm. The launch pad looks very tiny in the background but, trust me, it's huge! The little square bit is the Vertical Integration Building (VAB) and it's over 280 feet / 86 meters tall. Not visible: The still-in-progress Florida version of Mechazilla - which is not yet ready to catch things with its "chopsticks"! Bonus points to SpaceX for spot-on punctuality - it went up at exactly 9:52pm. The lauch pad looks very tiny in the background but, trust me, it's huge! My Photo: I was so mesmerized by seeing my very first rocket launch that I forgot to take photos as it lifted off. (I'm not really one of those "life through a lens" kinda people) It truly was beyond beautiful and absolutely awe-inspiring! This Falcon 9 Block 5 Rocket carried a payload of 28 satellites for Starlink's Internet communications mega-constellation. I am now a total Launch Junkie and can hardly wait to see another one ❤️
