New: Communities face spiralling fuel prices, exacerbating transport poverty and car dependence - and many need car-free alternatives for short trips. I've spoken to successful greenway campaigners, and produced a toolkit! so others can help assemble low-carbon transport routes in their areas

We're working to expand London's network of cycleways - making our streets safer & enabling more people to choose healthy, affordable & green ways to travel.
Great to see the construction work on the Cycleway 4 extension is progressing so well.

FOI Southwark Council (ref: 53499106) for status of C4 Improvenent Scheme consulted Dec 2025: The proposed new design is approved, and it is subject to a statutory consultation. This will start construction in winter 25/26 subject to approval.

I don't know whether the cycle hub is still in the plans. It looked quite nice in design.
Update: Construction commences on 2nd March and will continue in phases til October.
The new infrastructure will complement nicely the recently installed zebra/cycle crossing where this route meets the canal, and the new cycle contraflows on Delamere Terrace and Blomfield Road.
Now just need to wait for the Tower Hamlets section. Don't know when TfL could finally being unblocked given the Aspire Party being difficult.
Good news!
The grotty streets and public realm around Plumstead station are to be improved after 10-15 years of talk.

The Queenstown Road cycle infrastructure is progressing well - more of this please!
Camden now delivers schemes quickly. I guess it just the scale they are building

The entrance is already modified to allow maintenance vehicles to enter. TfL might mean that this entrance kerb alignment on Blackfriars Bridge will stay.
I have FOIed TfL. Their plan is reopening it for pedestrian first, then they will go in and reimplement the 'interim' arrangement.

Looks like they have plans to build the Lewisham spine on road. That might be the reason behind not signing the whole route as C18.
Could you and the two councils relook into the proposal for Swiss Cottage gyratory? It needs to be fixed.
C4 Extension to Woolwich

The further section down to Woolwich Ferry is currently under construction (would complete in 2027). This would connect to that section through an interim GTC connection.

The Mildmay Liveable Neighbourhood has now gone live. Traffic filters are located at the east end of Mildmay Road, at the east end of St Jude Street, and on King Henryโs Walk adjacent to the Adventure Playground. More info here: www.letstalk.islington.gov.uk/mildmay-live...
Given the track record of RBKC, don't think it will be cycleway worthy any time soon!
The original crossing near Anchor and Hope Lane has been replaced with temporary crossing. The central segregation is now being removed.
Some new developments for C4 extension to Woolwich Ferry. The construction has started on 29 Sept. Expect delays.

Another nerdy FOI requested by me asking TfL about the restoration of C3/C6 connection cycleway.

I think they would restore this link road first before removing the temporary alignment. TfL might consult to keep part of it I think just like they have done with the Bank Capacity Upgrade
The pavement is reinstated and part of the Cycleway is now cleared.
Closer look at the reinstatement of Blackfriars C6/C3 link road. It can now be seen from the opposite arm of the Victoria Embankment.

Surprised that they managed to put in permanent infrastructure just out of the redevelopment.
