Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

This is a harrowing look at Epstein's connections to academia. It shows how Epstein was able to woo high-profile scholars with witty banter, promises of research funding, and help from a well-connected literary agent, despite not having a degree himself.

I have accidentally looked at Epstein files that are open access and anyone can look at them at will. Goodness gracious, the scale of how abhorrent and ghastly they are. It’s not only individuals, entire institutions and funding bodies like Guggenheim Fund are involved.
It's a MEDIA INDIGENA (partial) reunion with @kimtallbear.bsky.social and I sitting down with Candis to discuss her talk at this awesome @sfuindg.bsky.social event! ⬇️

We’re baaaack! So grateful to @rickharp.bsky.social for putting it all together and @zoestodd.bsky.social for organizing this event that the new episode dives into. Great to be back in conversation with Rick and @kimtallbear.bsky.social
I thank my Indigenous fellow decolonial thinkers, Rick Harp, Candis Callison, Zoe Todd and Kim TallBear whose solidarity mean the world to me. It is always a pleasure to share space with you: to challenge coloniality and explore more generative ways of living and working otherwise.
Russian authorities have detained an Indigenous climate advocate, accusing her of participating in a terrorist organization in what international observers are calling “retribution” for her UN advocacy on behalf of Indigenous peoples.

"Beyond Fires and Floods (BFF): Indigenous Narratives in an Era of Extremes" FRI OCT 24 at 6:30 pm, Museum of Anthropology, UBC FREE public event: No RSVP needed How have Indigenous narratives helped Indigenous peoples cope with and confront climate change? It was an honour to be part of the plenary for the 9th meeting of Portuguese Anthropological Association held in Viana do Castelo. If it was not an invitation by Prof Cristiana Bastos, President of the Association, I would not have ever discovered the stunning city of Viana do Castelo 🙌❤️
Congratulations to Mayor Zohran Mamdani and to New York for showing us how it’s done and also giving the worst people in the world a very bad night.
Just found out Zohran Mamdani said he’d arrest Netanyahu if he lands in NYC—because no war criminal should be above the law. That’s the kind of courage we need in a mayor. A city that stands for human rights, not genocide.
Agree with all my heart 🙌👏
Wonderful news! Congratulations 🎊

“Science has no passport, no gender, no ethnicity, no political party.”
EC President Ursula von der Leyen, announcing a €500M initiative to attract top global talent.
In a fractured world, science remains a unifying force – rooted in diversity, driven by curiosity, and shared by all humanity.
