I’m thinking hard about the meaning of gear in a hobby as a means to an end of engaging with the hobby. If my Sony is not fun to use I am less likely to use it. I miss testing the Ricoh GRIIIx because it was super fun to use and easy to take around, but it’s not a “system” replacement

Back to thinking about upgrading from my a7riii which is getting frustrating to use how I want to (not so sticky autofocus). Thinking about a7v to stay in system, or switching systems to Nikon z8 or z6iii.

Also thinking about Fuji, but I like full frame..

I used an RX100vii for a while which had deliciously sticky autofocus and I’m almost tempted to just get one again, but I have beautiful full frame glass so considering an a7v now

Seriously considering upgrading my main camera body after my a7riii broke (in a minor way) at LVFC and remains difficult to work with for faster casual work. I wish the autofocus was stickier on fast lenses. I keep missing focus on the eyes while working fast below f/2.8. I want to use f/1.4 dammit
