Just over a week ago, The Family Care Act - House Bill 200 - was passed by the PA House of Representatives. I voted YES for this bill which would mandate employers to provide at least 12 weeks of paid family leave for employees. 14 states & D.C. already do this.

With Tax Day quickly approaching, we want to remind everyone of two first time and historic tax credits we've passed to help qualified Pennsylvanians get relief while filing their tax returns during these tough economic times.

The Working Pennsylvanian's Tax Credit (WPTC) was created in last year's budget and can provide up to $805 in tax relief. Anyone who qualifies for the federal Earned Income Tax Credit, qualifies for the WPTC.
