So I’ve decided that I’m basically just not going to participate anymore in dating, relationships or even casual fun. I’ve been defeated.

Now into my villian, dgaf, self prioritizing era

And on the rare occasion I meet someone who actually sees me as a whole human - I now have all the other, normal barriers in dating to over come.

Sometimes it feels like in order to have something - I’m waiting 300 years until the planets converge or the second coming of Christ to happen.

Basically trying to date means I’m constantly looking for clues/actions/words in an attempt to sus out if and what category someone falls into. Eventually it comes out in the wash though, people always show you who they are and what the are up to in time.

Each of these categories have one thing in common, none of them see me as a whole person. I am a body, a symbol, an experience - something to fulfill their needs, expectations, desires. I theorize that the exploitation of trans identity by other groups and reducing us to a body is to blame.

Here are my general observations about dating while trans:

1) interest in me as a potential partner falls generally into 1/4 categories.

A) the gay lite experience
B) the notch on the belt
C) the woke brag
D) the classic chaser

Dating while trans is an absolute nightmare. I have more terrible, awkward, degrading and stupid interactions, that I no longer feel safe or interested engaging with dating and romance at all. For clarification, I lean towards romantic relationships with men but occasionally date women1/
