UPDATE: had a short trip to A&E - steri-strips, glue, and waterproof dressing. Gash was quite deep (incredible amount of blood all over the kitchen floor for the cut itself). I’ve got a concussion & whiplash as well. My whole body took a hit. Told to “do nothing for two days”. I’ll have a scar.

There’s something so satisfying about a bowl of 0% fat Greek yoghurt with walnuts and honey. And it’s guilt-free, mostly.
I can highly recommend sliced orange segments, 0% fat Greek yoghurt, chopped walnuts, and Greek ‘forest’ honey. A fresh and clean dessert.
Urgh, the new students next door are horrible. So loud that I can hear them word for word. I guess I can say this because I live the Cambridge cliché, but they are not one of us.
With a single side glance, Queen Camilla owns the day.
Rock and Roll house band seems to have no cut-off. It’s so loud I can’t concentrate on my Kindle.
Cripes!
Argh, that’s terrible! Is it an EpiPen allergy? It seems like a lot of food has coriander leaves thrown in arbitrarily.
Well, I’m in Rhodes. Same hotel as last year. This time they’ve labelled all the food with allergy advice. Every single dessert has gluten and nuts in them. Apart from the bananas and pineapple chunks. I had a salad and a banana. I’m now tired and grumpy.
Ray Winstone is a terrible actor. Or rather his varied and weird accents are.
Well. Chocolate Matcha Fuel is disgusting.
There are loads of 🏴 flags strung up on lampposts in Milton Keynes, where my parents live. Particularly gammony in Newport Pagnell. I’ve not seen any up in Cambridge.
Lovely hairdresser came to the house. He’s really understanding about my head-touching phobia since ECT-gate. And also my stupid costochondritis makes it difficult to move about.
Got to be gutting to lose two slams in a row. Sabalenka was super, particularly in the tie-break. Anisimova showed up today and did not tank in a double bagel. It was much closer than Wimbledon.
I love my friends, but dear god - stop with all the doorstep first day of school photos. I genuinely care nothing for your children. I’m sure they’re all lovely, but ENOUGH.
Despite having a shower, clean clothes, now sitting in another house, I can still smell Addenbrooke’s on me.
Episode 5 of Alien Earth was outstanding!
So glad I was allowed to go home early. Things were still bonkers, but I just cut myself out of the drama and said goodbye. I cannot abide incompetence.
I must say we dealt with the *most* compassionate and professional police officers today. They were exceptional. #police #Ely
Such a stressful day at work. Supposed to have left at 9pm. Didn’t leave until nearly 11pm due to various very complicated issues. Got to work at 12.15 and left at 22.55. It was one hell of a shift.
I’ve got DASH training tomorrow (Domestic Abuse Stalking and Honour Based Violence). Mum is driving me up to Huntingdon. It’s important that I do it, but I’m cross that this is yet another thing I’m doing on a non-working day.
In my head, this was every swimming pool when I was a kid.
Ilford in the news again. My home, never notable for its lovely parks. Glad I live in Cambridge now.
“Kryptonite gives him MAGICAL POWERS” according to my dad.
My fuzzy buddy was brilliant at the V.E.T. He likes a fuss and purred and rolled around. He’s still a little heavy, but has not gained any weight since last year (actually he’s a little less, but he still needs to shift a bit).
"In your otherwise beautiful poem “The Vision of Sin” there is a verse which reads – “Every moment dies a man, Every moment one is born.” It must be manifest that if this were true, the population of the world would be at a standstill. In truth, the rate of birth is slightly in excess of that of death. I would suggest that in the next edition of your poem you have it read – “Every moment dies a man, Every moment 1 1/16 is born.” The actual figure is so long I cannot get it onto a line, but I believe the figure 1 1/16 will be sufficiently accurate for poetry. I am, Sir, yours, etc., Charles Babbage"
'Insufficiently statistically signifiant for a joke'
To add to my dreadful health day, FB reminds me that today in 2023 I was in A&E after taking an overdose.
My HomePod is listening in to The Lost Boys. During a particularly dramatic scene Siri pops us and says “uh huh, I’m glad to hear that”. I can only conclude that she is a creature of the night.
MSc is good to go. Start in Sept with the OU. It will confer BPS registration/conversion. Step one on my journey to becoming a clinical psychologist. It’ll be a long road but I’m motivated.
Grease 2 is probably one of the worst films ever made. So I’m going to forget it even happened.
