There is a direct link to these issues & Atlanta DSA's opposition to the blanket TAD extensions until 2055, because the policy would impose unececessary long-term austerity by diverting $ from Fire, 311 diversion (PAD), & affordable housing (latter especially outside the often squirley-shaped TADs).
Thank you to the 90+ people coming out to public comment in solidarity. With the people on our side, we were able to pass 2 resolutions to curb ICE powers in ATL, and begin conversations to expand 311 hours. Letβs keep fighting to win an Atlanta for the 99%! πΉ
Weβre building a movement to fight for people β not profits ahead of the World Cup and beyond!
That meansβ¦
β
A union contract for firefighters!
β
311 dispatching to PAD on weekends!
β
Investment in violence prevention programs!
β
Housing, not Handcuffs!
β
No ICE in ATL!
Last Saturday, I had the honor of being endorsed by @atldemsoc! πΉβ¨οΈ This Saturday, we're hitting the ground running! πββ‘οΈ Join me and my comrade, @kelseabondatl.bsky.social, for a fun day of canvassing, followed by food and drinks! π» Sign up at the link in my bio!βοΈ

Both resos to curb ICE powers PASSED, & it was heartening to see so many Atlantans from different walks of life standing in solidarity with e/o. Workers deserve fair pay, we deserve alternatives to police, and immigrants deserve safety in ATL! This is what democracy looks like πΉ
Today, 90+ people signed up for public comment to fight for:
1) ICE out of ATL
2) Signing the firefighter union contract
3) Expanding 311 & PAD to operate on weekends during World Cup
These are not disparate issues β all are part of the fight to win an Atlanta for the 99%!
We tried the new Rapid A-Line Bus! π
Itβs the perfect cool Sunday to get outside! π I took my new rollerblades from Midtown to downtown along the ATL Streets Alive route (I only fell once), to meet friends and try out the new MARTA rapid bus line!
Itβs great to see long-awaited More MARTA projects getting off the ground. Days like this show us what a more connected Atlanta can look like if we invest in people-first infrastructure. Canβt wait to see many more transit projects get completed. And itβs PURPLE! π
I enjoyed meeting Mathewos to answer his questions about what I've learned in pushing for economic justice in Atlanta & Fulton County. Plus sharing memories of Vincent Fort.
We need smart, caring, young progressives in the State House like Mathewos & Jeremiah Olney!
There are official pictures somewhere but idk where lol
Itβs a bike lane! π΄π
This morning I was proud to join ATLDOT, Midtown Alliance, and community members to welcome the new Juniper Complete Street & bike lane! Itβs so essential that we keep investing in infrastructure to build a safer, more equitable, and less car dependent Atlanta.
Tonight!!! Who should chair the Fulton County Commission?? π¨
This is a big decision that impacts whether Atlanta extends the TADs, if we invest in diversion services vs new jails, and funding for supportive housing. Make an informed decision by attending tonight at 6pm!
We deserve streets that are safe for all of us, whether youβre walking, biking, driving, or rolling.

Iβm honored to have the endorsement of my friend and comrade Councilmember Kelsea Bond. Kelsea is a long-time community organizer and labor activist, and their commitment to their constituents is something I hope to mirror in the State House.
So proud to endorse @samsonforgeorgia.bsky.social in this race! πΉ
Georgia deserves leaders willing to fight for workers β not billionaire interests. Mathewos is the candidate I trust to stand up against corporate greed and champion housing, healthcare, and public education as human rights!
If you want to be a part of the fight, get involved with Housing Justice League and their relaunch of the tenant protection hotline. Keep an eye out for our next community townhall in May π
Atlanta has the highest wealth gap in the country, and recent data shows some of the worst eviction filing rates nationwide. Thereβs never been a more crucial time to expand tenant protections, fund deeply affordable housing, and provide renters with the tools to fight back. π
Atlanta renters are ready to organize!β
Thanks to everyone who came to our tenant organizing training with Housing Justice League this Saturday! We educated the community on their rights as tenants, how to fight illegal evictions, and bringing their neighbors into the fight! π―
TOMORROW! Join our office and Housing Justice League 4/11 @ 1pm at the L5P Community Center for a tenant organizing clinic! βοΈπ
Learn your rights as a renter in Fulton County & how to organize where you live to win fair rents and good living conditions.

Great morning spent with CWA union member retirees, listening to their questions and what they want to see from our city! βπ
Just finished There is No Place for Us by Brian Goldstone which tells stories of the working homeless in Atlanta. Never read a book so devastating. So many families who canβt make ends meet are rendered invisible under capitalism. It wonβt end til we win housing as a human right! πΉ
Itβs true
Granted, I only owned a car for a couple years of my life, but never have I ever DRIVEN in a city to which I FLEW for vacation.
