A clip from The New York Times reads: "But only the entities that officially paid the tariffs are eligible to recover that money. That means that the fuller universe of people affected by Mr. Trump’s policies — including millions of Americans who paid higher prices for the products they bought — are not able to apply for direct relief.

The extent to which consumers realize any gain hinges on whether businesses share the proceeds, something that few have publicly committed to do. Some have started to band together in class-action lawsuits in the hopes of receiving a payout."

The average American family paid $1,700 in tariffs last year, according to the bipartisan Congressional Joint Economic Committee. Few will ever see any of that money back. The refunds will go to companies, if doled out at all. What a joke.

All these dumb as shit ceos are like "We'll have fully automated production lines while there's 20% - 30% unemployment." Ok, but who are your production lines for if there's not enough people with jobs to buy shit? Are they just making shit and services for each other? Where's their money come from?

The new VERY hagriographic Michael Jackson biopic starring MJ's nephew is out at the end of the month. But back in 2004 an unauthorised and EQUALLY flattering biopic was made in Canada. Here is a clip and I promise you have NO idea where it's going. I haven't done a single edit here.

Microsoft, to its billions of customers:

You must use this product to be hired or promoted.

It is the future. We are spending billions per day, choking the rest of the economy.

You cannot avoid it. You cannot uninstall it.

It is risky. Do not rely on it for anything important. It is a toy.

Dental student died in ICU overseen by remote 'tele-health' physician: Lawsuit A 26-year-old dental student in Connecticut died in an intensive care unit that was overseen by a remote "tele-health" doctor who pronounced him dead on a video screen, a lawsuit says.

Today I learned that one should ask a hospital where a loved one is being treated in an *ICU* if they will be monitored and treated by on-site care providers or through remote telehealth. This fatal dystopian story is about Yale New Haven Health.

Why Is the New York Times Laundering the Reputation of a Sleazy AI Startup That's Selling GLP-1s via a Dishonest Dumpster Fire of Fake Doctors, Phony Before-and-After Pictures, and Other Glaring Red F... The New York Times ran a glowing profile of a company called Medvi that's using AI to sell GLP-1s. The truth is more complicated.

NEW: The NYT said that the AI-powered GLP-1 middleman startup Medvi — which is reportedly on track to do $1.8b in sales — cleaned up its act after taking deceptive marketing "shortcuts."

But it didn't.

More on: fake Medvi clients, fake doctors, and an FDA warning...

This is my favorite climate change chart. Japanese monks, aristocrats, and emperors kept meticulous records of cherry blossom festivals for 1,200 years and accidentally built the world's longest climate dataset.

THREAD. An important report was just released, putting another nail in the coffin of Obama-era "police reform" copaganda. After a study of 13 years of "police reform" in Puerto Rico, police violence *got worse.* The "reform" itself has a budget of $20 million per year.

tiny thread of tips for anyone freaked out by the reports of multiple fatal rattlesnake bites in SoCal lately:

1. not a comment on these particular bites at all, but statistically most bites occur when trying to interact with a snake (killing it, filming it, handling it to show off)

I think another thing they use the opinion section for is "driving engagement". They know a lot of dog shit op-eds will "piss off the libs" causing discourse as people share it. Which drives traffic and comments under the op-ed. They see it as "entertainment".
