30×30 Solutions Toolkit The 30×30 Solutions Toolkit is an online toolbox, a curated web resource, providing guidance and information to implement the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework Target 3.

Pleased that @nhm-london.bsky.social's 30by30 policy brief, produced using the Museum's Biodiversity Intactness Index, is now available as part of the High Ambition Coalition's 30x30 Solutions Toolkit! ⚒️

Hopefully of use to all those designing/actioning #30by30 strategies and NBSAPs 🤝

2024 showed us why immediate action on #climate and nature is essential🌎

It was the hottest year on record. Devastating floods took lives. Blistering heat caused heatstroke and deaths. Wildfires scorched landscapes.

Policymakers need to act ambitiously in 2025👉 buff.ly/3BIFpfu

IPBES report sees climate, nature and food challenges interlinked A new approach is needed to tackle the interlinked crises afflicting the planet, scientists warn.

Biodiversity is "essential" to human existence and yet is declining in "all regions of the world", the latest #IPBES global science review declares.

Further proof of the synergies between climate and nature emergencies and the importance of interconnected action...

We are thrilled to announce that it has been agreed that #IPBES12 will take place in the United Kingdom, thanks to the UK’s kind offer to host the Plenary.

Thank you to UK Government, we look forward to launching the #BizBiodiversity Report in the UK.

Our recent analysis highlighted the importance of capacity for management and quality assurance - biodiversity intactness within England's protected areas (incl. National Landscapes) was just 32% in 2020...!

If we are to protect nature for 30by30 and beyond, proper prioritisation is essential.

Really interesting from @sarahoconnorft.bsky.social. The public value "protecting the planet" far more than they do "creating green jobs". www.ft.com/content/2d00...

🌍🌳 Today is Nature Day at #COP29!

🦎 Climate and nature are deeply interconnected. We rely on nature to store our carbon and depend on the climate to safeguard our ecological communities.

🏞️ More action is urgently needed to preserve the nature that we all rely on.

🌎🦥Where are we at with linking climate change and biodiversity loss?

#COP16 biodiversity summit ended a week before #COP29 climate summit, although you'd be forgiven for forgetting that as it's barely been mentioned here in Baku

But there are some updates worth noting...

The UK Biodiversity Alliance is a partnership of three of the UK’s leading nature organisations - Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew; Zoological Society of London; and the Natural History Museum - to chart a science-led path to local solutions and global policy change.

In a bumper year of all three COPs (climate, biodiversity, desertification) taking place in quick succession, the need for synergistic action across UN Conventions has never been clearer.

We face not solely a climate nor nature emergency, but an interconnected planetary emergency…

How does ecological risk relate to commercial risk? | Royal Society The Royal Society hosted an event to raise business awareness of the commercial risks they face as a result of ecological risks to their supply chains.

In early Oct, I was a speaker/panellist at the Royal Society's meeting on how ecological risk relates to financial risk. It's all available at royalsociety.org/science-even...; my talk (in which I advance the frontiers of what "15-minute talk" means 😂) is at 1:24 at www.youtube.com/watch?v=Of8K...
