Yup. The big bags of KH are always brutal expensive. I don't even buy the small ones unless on sale for ~$18.

Melitta has a Columbian, a French roast, and a decaf. I've only ever bought the Columbian, but yeah. I actually find it pretty good.

When I'm too poor for Kicking Horse, I've found the 1kg bags of whole beans by Mellita are surprisingly decent They generally sell for only $5 more than a 454g bag of KH. A couple more bucks up front, but lasts more than twice as long.

Thanks Claire. You'll have Eastern bluebirds out there, pretty much identical looking.

Blob is Binary Large OBject, in this context, presumably the image you are trying to post.

I expect it's likely a transient issue. BS does seem flaky from time to time. Not likely an issue with the image itself considering it managed to load the thumbnail, but who knows.

Two dishevelled looking birds standing on the edge of a birdbath. The are patchy yellow and buff as they are in the middle of a molt.

This one showed up a wee bit early. For its trouble, it will surely claim the finest tree to sing from. Pic is from 5 days ago, the snow has already melted ๐Ÿ™‚

A black and blue bird perched on a branch in a tree. The lower half is turquoise, which darkens into pure black at the top. The bird has a raised crest, and a small white eyebrow.

One of the two resident Steller's Jays in the yard. A mated pair. This one is brave and screams for peanuts at close range. The other is shyer, and tends to the shrubs on the outside of the yard. ๐Ÿชถ

Oh yeah, like they're intended for night use? Do they work decently?

If, like me, you find driving at night increasingly uncomfortable and dangerous due to nuclear-bright headlights, both in new vehicles, and aftermarket, then take the time to fill out this Transport Canada survey. It asks for no personal information other than age, and whether you are a CA citizen.

Using GCC-15? A lot of legacy-C packages are broken because GCC 15 uses -std=gnu23 by default, which is much stricter about implicit casts (error vs warning). Workaround is to set per-package cflags to -std=gnu17 or -std=gnu11, or use older gcc if you have multiple versions installed.

A coyote turns its head and regards the camera. It blends in with the tawny tall grass, which fills the rest of the frame.

A coyote that stopped its fleeing long enough to stop, look, and consider the weirdo with the camera. This is another one from the Nicola Plateau, high above Merritt.

Yes, that is annoying.

I was going to say, I thought you just did move, but then it occurs to me it was like, last June when I talked to you? Where the hell does the time go?

Oh wow! This isn't unfamiliar for the prairies, but almost unheard of in mountainous BC. Wild weather everywhere but where I am, which seems to be the valley that weather forgot. I can't even articulate how BORING this winter was, weather-wise.

Try on a bigger screen? I found for some of the harder ones I could 'cheat' on my laptop by rotating the screen slowly back and forth to 45 degree angles. Sometimes it would make the line appear haha.

It would be interesting to do a similar test but for audio frequencies. I'm almost certain I would fail that one. I've destroyed my hearing from too many punk rock shows...

Other ppl: yeah, I'm shy. A total introvert

Me: oh? Do you also consider breaking your own legs to avoid a social event full of people you've never met?
