I will believe that ICE enforcement has changed on the ground when I stop getting daily notices that armed, masked goons are circling my kids’ schools and trying to sow fear in the parent patrols.

SCOOP: American Academy of Pediatrics loses HHS funding after criticizing RFK Jr. Research included reducing sudden infant deaths and identifying autism early. Me and @Paigecunningham.Bsky.Social

What the absolute [expletive] was that?!?
I asked for a translation and I was not disappointed
/2 So Elon’s claim of treason necessarily means that (1) levying war against Russia (by being invaded) is the same as levying war against the United States, or (2) Ukraine is America’s enemy.
Or it could be that he’s a persistently ignorant amoral shit-talker.
So, Twitter was down while Tesla stock is in a freefall.
My guess: Musk stripping the servers for copper to sell.
Fucking shameful United States. Shameful. You too Israel. Shameful.👇
Just a reminder that what he's talking about is the private information about every American and business, and there are laws against this access. "Transform the way the government works" by doing what? Targeting opponents? Microtargeting political ads so Republicans never lose?
Congrats, America. We're now on Putin's side.
The measles outbreak in Texas is the worst in thirty years, and it’s a DIRECT result of declining vaccine rates thanks to RFK Jr.
Disinformation is eroding public health.
In 2023, measles cases were 20% higher than in 2022. In 2022 they were 18% higher than in 2021.
See the pattern?

Years ago, after the Cambridge Analytica scandal, I interviewed a former fb employee, and I remember her continually emphasizing that these tech bros weren't evil geniuses, but were, in fact, dangerous because they were utterly clueless, totally reckless, and had too much power.
“President Donald Trump has now fully adopted Russia’s false propaganda on Ukraine, turning against a sovereign democracy that was invaded in favor of the invader.” By Stephen Collinson @cnn.com

Big, growing crowd just west of the U.S. Capitol protesting Trump, Musk and DOGE on President’s Day. “Hey Congress, grow a spine,” they shout, gathering for a rally around the reflecting pool.
"One FAA employee who was fired over the weekend suggested he was targeted for his views on Tesla and X..'The official DOGE Facebook page started harassing me on my personal Facebook account..Less than a week later I was fired, despite my position allegedly being exempted due to national security.'"
Tom Homan asks “where is that line,” as if it is mysterious or unknowable. It’s not. Tom’s saying it that way because he’s too much of a coward just to say “she should be arrested for telling people their rights.” Also, to be fair, he may be too dim to understand the line.
Nothing to worry about, just an administration official suggesting that the DOJ may prosecute a member of Congress for advising people about their rights.
Happening right now. Right in front of us.
It’s quite clear by now that the answer to “why is the Trump administration doing x terrible thing?” is that they are *trying* to dismantle America and destabilize the entire world.
This is a good time to remind everyone that this administration hasn't done anything for anyone. It has literally only taken away things we've already paid for and fired and sued people. Oh and the quid pro quo with Adams. That's the extent of what they have done. Kinda nuts.
On Friday night, HHS ordered CDC to take down all flu vaccine campaign materials from its website. Materials are starting to come down.
For example, a campaign explaining that flu shot can reduce flu severity from "wild to mild" is now offline. Left image is from Friday, right is now
Meanwhile...
Here we go: The Acting Solicitor General has asked #SCOTUS to immediately freeze (and vacate) the district court order that had temporarily reinstated Hampton Dellinger atop DOJ’s Office of Special Counsel:

I’ll have *much* more on this in tomorrow’s “One First.”
Again, "We're going to take 🇨🇦 & 🇬🇱" really should have ended it. But then, "we're going to blow up the transatlantic alliance" really should have ended it. But then, "we're going to unplug large chunks of the government" really should have ended it." Etc. Etc. What exactly are folks waiting for?
The headline doesn't do the article justice.
Trump's admin is arguing that anything like Black Student Associations, Black History Month events, programs to retain minorities, etc are illegal and worthy of defunding the school.

This is where we are now: An elementary school at Fort Campbell has removed all books from its library that so much as *allude* to slavery or the civil rights movement.
The wholesale erasure of history in real time.
DOGE is not a govt efficiency project. Firing 1 in 4 fed employees would cut govt spending by 1%. DOGE is a political control project. Firing and terrorizing public employees is a means to weakening state regulation & strengthening a personalist presidency donmoynihan.substack.com/p/doge-misma...
Kliger has reposted comments from white supremacist Fuentes, who has at times been banned from social media platforms including Facebook, YouTube and Twitter for hate speech. Kliger shared a December 4 post from Fuentes' X account. Kliger has since unshared the post, but Reuters examined a copy of the original repost via the Internet Archive. In the post on X, Fuentes mocks a post praising a photo of an apparently white couple pictured with two light-skinned children and a dark-skinned baby. In his post Fuentes referred to "adopted Black kids", denigrating the apparent interracial adoption. He also used the word "huzz", a pejorative term for women. Reuters could not immediately establish the identity or ethnicity of the people depicted. Fuentes did not respond to a request for comment on the post by email.
Important to note that the DOGE employee seeking access to your banking data is not the one that resigned, and then returned, because of his racist messaging. It's another one. www.reuters.com/world/us/sta...
