Oh, the Hugo Awards nominees dropped. I'm not entirely surprised by the list this year...I'm going to make it a point to read at least the novels and novellas! π€

For today's #NationalLibraryWeek post, I would like to thank my current public library system for the... * checks notes * 133 books that I have checked out so far this year, and the 501 books that I have on hold.
I do hope my numbers are helping. π

Illustration of a happy book waving and walking from a library shelf to an active park with a bookmobile parked nearby. Text over illustration reads "Outreach Brings Library Joy. National Library Outreach Day, April 22, 2026
Today is National #LibraryOutreachDay!
From bookmobiles and pop-ups to home delivery and library services for the incarcerated, library outreach meets communities where they are and ensures access to knowledge, connection, and careβno matter the barriers.

I think the Strawberries & Cream is the better flavor - it makes it taste like a cream soda, with just a hint of strawberries in there, so it's not overpoweringly sweet.
The blackberry has a bit more of a tartness to it, but as someone who doesn't really like sweet things, I appreciate that.
Blackberry AND Strawberries & Cream. They stock them very rarely at my local grocery store - they're both very good, just the right amount of sweet. π₯°
Oh my gosh, I love Spirit City! X3
But, let's see...when I get home from work, I'll have a blackberry Dr. Pepper and get back to reading The Ministry of Time. If I don't finish reading it at work, at least!
In which case, I'll need to pick a new e-book...maybe The Starving Saints. π€
My cat likes to listen to audiobooks with me, and typically he prefers to listen to true crime. He's been really invested in Lula Dean's Little Library of Banned Books, though! π

I've been on Goodreads (on my main acc) since 2012. I've been on Hardcover lately - it's much smaller, and doesn't have social interactions, but there's something to be said for it's simplicity. Nice stat tracking, too!
I've also previously used Bookworm Reads and Library Thing. π
I'm making one last push to let people know about this online talk -- sponsored by the British Library in conjunction with their current exhibition on fairy tales. The live stream starts at 7:30 tonight, but if you buy a ticket *before* the event you can watch it any time over the next 7 days.
A library can be a beginning, an escape, a classroom, or a second home.
Happy #NationalLibraryWeek π #booksky
Librarians are amazing. You can ask them about a book you think might have been a dream, but youβre pretty sure you read when you were eleven and the cover was blueβ¦and theyβll find it! ππ
Thank you for leading me to The Amberglow Candy Store! A cozy, magical candy shop? Run by a half-fox?
Another day of National Library Week, another library post! This time, I bring you a glimpse of my library TBR. It's an ever-growing beast, as I try to make sure I'm never going to run out of books to read.

I'm really enjoying it so far! π
Happy National Library Week! Visit your library. Renew your card. Download library apps like Libby and Kanopy and Hoopla. Enjoy literally endless hours of free entertainment. Revel in the knowledge that youβre actively supporting your library. Or spend time in the stacks and discover something. ππ
That cover is (almost) the entire reason I want to read The Vanishing Cherry Blossom Bookshop. π
SO pretty!
Congrats! π₯³π
Channeling that inner "frog that got its hands on a sparkler" vibe. πΈπ
Oh good! I thought I'd missed National Library Week.
Public libraries have always been special to me - especially during my teenage years. It was a comfort to have a place to go after school. I discovered some of my favorite authors during that time, hanging out among the shelves.

a frog crouching, holding a sparking wand
...I couldn't resist.
"In other versions of the story, the creatures were spotted under or over a poorly lit bridge, and one held a wand over its head that fired a spray of sparks." - Wikipedia
Magic frogs???
I'm a huge fan of time travel stories! I'm really looking forward to this one. π
There's apparently a bill currently in motion to name the Loveland Frog as Ohio's state cryptid. As an amateur folklorist, it is CRIMINAL that I've lived here for 7 years, and this is the first I'm hearing of Frogman!

book cover for The Ministry of Time, by Kaliane Bradley - colorful font for the title, on a background of black with white stars
I'm starting The Ministry of Time, by Kaliane Bradley.
I'm torn between the desire to consume all of my domestic fiction at once, or to space it out evenly for the rest of the year like a reasonable person.

I just finished Wyrdwood, and you are absolutely right - it was such a rollercoaster ride! I'm looking forward to the rest of the Trilogy.
I'm on the third story, and it's adorable. π₯°
We took a trip to the Book Loft today! Absolutely worth the trip. π₯°
