Let’s be clear about what this really is about: they want to silence anyone who gets federal grants by having the ability to remove their funding and livelihood if they speak against whomever is in power. It’s like tariffs: this is about political control and silencing critics.

And even the ones that do are getting something like $13 million to $26 million in exemption. So for a married couple with a $28 million estate (that’s a lot of Iowa farmland), they are paying approximately 40% on about $2 million - about $800k. No one is losing their farm paying estate tax…

We’re talking about like maybe enough estates to count on your hands and maybe toes each year… at least in Iowa.

I practice tax and estate law in Iowa… there are very, very, very few farms large enough to hit the estate tax limit...
