What a wonderful evening at our ☃️Beancross Winter Wonderland!☃️. A magical time was had by all children and families. A huge thank you to all our partners within our local community who helped bring the magic to life. 🎄✨🥰

Our Christmas party at Cunningham House. We had our final care home visit of 2025 and as ever everyone had such a lovely time, we are so glad to share this wholesome experience together. We were very lucky have a special visit from Santa Claus. Already looking forward to our visits in 2026!🎅🏼

To celebrate St Andrews day we had created our own tartan with different colours of paper. We had listened to some Scottish rhymes as well as reading The Gruffalo in Scots.

Today we celebrated Children in Need here at Beancross ELC!
To join in the fun and support this wonderful cause, came to nursery wearing our pyjamas 💤💛

With the childrens interest of identifying letters in their names, we went on a walk in the community to see more letters, “Thats K in my name”. Whilst doing this we were also talking about how we stay safe near and crossing roads, “you need to stop, look and listen for cars”, “we hold hands”.

Today we had discussed what ‘Remembrance Day’ was with some of the children as they mentioned seeing poppy’s. We had created our own poppy’s and why we were them. We also watched a video to help us understand it a little better, “the poppy grew after the war” - GP.

Today we had spoke about why we have bonfire night and had a story by the fire🔥 We have been creative making our own firework pictures using bright colours which we see in the sky. Through all his excitement we also talked about how we stay safe on bonfire night and watched a video to help us. 🔥🎆🎇

Our numeracy adventure kits have been explored by some of our families already! Our bags have a different numeracy focus for our families to explore together from hop scotch, coloured shapes, jigsaws, games, books, timers! Thank you @mathsweek.scot for the funding to make these for our families! 🔢🎒🎲

We have been exploring different Halloween experiences today to celebrate Halloween from exploring the inside of a pumpkin and then decorating it, creating our own Halloween crafts and designing our own peppers and oranges with scary faces, whilst learning lots of new skills! 🎃👻

Thanks to the funding we secured from @mathsweek.scot we have been able to create ’number adventure kits’ to go home with our families! Each kit has a different focus: ‘Number and counting’, ‘pattern and shape’, “‘movement’ and ‘measure’, providing our families different opportunities to learn. 📏🔢

Thanks to the funding secured @mathsweek.scot we were able to host our Nature and Numbers event🌿It was amazing to see families exploring maths through play, counting petals, spotting patterns, measuring sticks & comparing sizes 🐞Allowing parents to see how maths happens naturally everyday outdoors💚

🚒🔥 Exciting day at Beancross! Our children had a visit from the local fire crew and their fire engine. Lots of smiles, questions, and even a chance to try the hose! 👩‍🚒👨‍🚒

A great morning at our first Family Breakfast of the term!🥣🍓The children loved demonstrating their morning routine, chatting and showing their families around the ELC. Thank you to everyone who joined us.🥰
