I just researched & wrote a chapter on the AI overlord dystopian scenario for #ADozenDystopiasAndHowToDodgeThem ...and the Bluesky tone is the one that's in line with the facts. AI is not a super genius. The singularity is not being coy. Our water supply's in danger, but humanity's relevance isn't.

THRILLED @kickstarter.com has chosen Year’s Best Canadian F&SF: Volume 4 as a #ProjectWeLove. PWL status is Kickstarter's way of “highlighting brilliant examples of creativity.” Far be it from me to argue. ;)

Today is a very special day, because it's release day for the UK edition of my dear friend and critique partner Danai Christopoulou's debut novel, VILE LADY VILLAINS. I am so excited for many more of you to read this delightfully unhinged masterpiece!

All these "writers must embrace AI" folks obviously do not know many writers IRL because we are some of the most stubborn and obstinate people on the face of the planet or else we would not persevere with writing against all the odds stacked against us 🤷‍♂️😂

Let me stop you right there. I don't give a damn what AI does. It will never impact the way I write. Ever. Nothing is less relevant to me than generative AI "writing" tendencies.

as someone who has been involved in political and community organizing, if you're feeling helpless and want to start helping, the easiest + quickest way in is:

1. find your local mutual aid network
2. find your neighborhood association
3. go to a (city council/library/county/etc.) board meeting
