Was only able to lurk while I was doing some other stuff, but it was a great stream!!

No worries at all, thank you for reaching out!! I've sent you some details via the form on your site :))
this is insane work!! looks so good
good luck!! excited to see what you come up with
love this idea, its so immediately interesting!
update: this has completely broken everything BUT every bug fix is removing like 50 lines of code, so I think we’re heading in the right direction
this was completely unprompted, but thanks for the heads up anyway
an windows alert that the copilot executable could not be found
woke up to some great news from microsoft this morning!
you can destroy tiles in KOROMEKE now so I had to refactor all my arrays into linked lists
I thought comp-sci professors made that up, can't believe its actually real #gamedev
the extra work definitely pays off, the finals images are so lovely!!
Like I’d get stuck using some technique that I could pull off 1 in 20 times, but then the game would slowly nudge me towards a technique that I could do much more consistently.
Despite being mostly static, the space feels very attentive and responsive.
I got fixated on an optional platforming section like 10 or so hours ago and I’m finding it very difficult.
Getting SO close to clearing it now, but I’m amazed that the game hasn’t stopped communicating to me in all that time.
I’m working on my first year+ project atm and keeping a design diary has helped so much in riding those waves.
Reading entries from a month ago and seeing all of the problems that have since been solved usually picks up the mood on sloggish days!
welcome to the fellagon
just changed all my fades from 1 second to 0.63 and its actually an insane difference lmao thank you
Had my first marathon experience this weekend and oh my god is it electric
One successful pvp encounter over like 10 runs and I was still hooked the whole time. It postures players against each other in ways that I’ve never experienced before.
It usually ends up pretty homogenous right now, interested to see if we can keep the system more dynamic for longer.
The gif swaps between the "national" view (colours are quantized within borders) and the "cultural" view (colours are continuous). You get interesting cultural vestiges within a state, like how Nice is a part of France but still feels kinda Italian.
Separated cells into water (dark) and land (light). Land uses the game of life automaton and water uses a B2/S1 automaton, which makes coasts sources for stability 1/x
Added some borders delineating sharp colour boundaries. I might be feeling the call of procedural world generation again 😬
Short afternoon sketch of a friend's idea, game of life with inherited colours. It tells quite fun stories if you let yourself get attached to one colour or another (green forever).
a pixelated map of a continent, with terrain on the land and ocean floors rendered in exaggerated relief.
there's a significant focus on doing justice to noncombat playstyles in [the coiled sun]. there are some fascinating, often underexplored options here for characters and modes of play, and i think some of them could have very interesting relationships with world building.
its so funny to think that stephen fry taught me how to code lmao
thats gorgeous!! how are you blending between the blue and purple?
if i design hard enough i think i can cure myself
My phone addiction is pretty bad rn but its actually so helpful for #gamedev playtesting lol. Number of phone checks per game is going down so we're probably on the right track.
there’s a bump!! so cool, thanks for sharing that 😁😁
its man vs machine out here, wishlist to find out if I can make this ugly s.team/a/3946400
shader bugs continue to have better art direction than I could ever hope for #gamedev
that’d be cool!! im really curious if it’d show a difference between tutorial-y levels and harder levels
