The world should have boycotted both events then just as we should boycott both events now. It is one thing among many things that need to happen to resist the rise of global fascism, and Trump should not be allowed to use these events to bolster his regime.

I want all of us to take the rise of global fascism in the United States, parts of Europe, and other countries as seriously as the world should have taken the rise of fascism in Europe in the 1930s. Mussolini used the 1934 World Cup and Hitler used the 1936 Olympics for propaganda purposes.

The rise of global fascism requires global solidarity among antifascists to defeat it.

I am sure a lot of folks said that about Mussolini and Hitler, and look where that got the world.

On the contrary, resisting the rise of global fascism is precisely everyone’s responsibility.

The fact that we have not seen a global boycott of the 2026 World Cup is one of many signs that the world is not taking the threat that fascism in the United States poses seriously enough.

54 United States Senators voted to make the United States a lot less safe under the incompetence of Markwayne Mullin as Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. Voting for this incompetent and violent man is a dereliction of their duty as Senators.

A number of folks have asked me why I don’t publish my writings on substack. The answer is that substack still has a Nazi problem. Nazis use substack to profit from subscriptions there, and substack continues to profit from their presence on its platform.

Normalize calling fascism fascism. This is no time for euphemisms.

Neutrality will not bring the dry bones of our democracy back to life. Only justice will do that.

Resist evil, injustice, and oppression in whatever forms they present themselves.

As long as Stephen Miller has any proximity to power in the federal government, he poses an existential threat to our democratic republic. He represents everything that our country and any decent human being should strive never to be.

If they are lying about the deaths caused by ICE that we see with our own eyes, imagine what lies are being told about deaths happening in detention centers that we cannot see.
