I didn’t know her well, but she was very kind to me once at a conference where I felt lost and out of place. A brilliant archaeologist. May her memory be a blessing.

Absolutely incredible.

Watch with sound on.

Anyone have suggestions for where to build a new personal academic website these days, preferably for free or cheap? I had a beautiful web page on weebly but it was costing too much.

Well, I didn't expect to see this on camera. Western fence lizard catches a bee and eats it.

The lizards are insectivores that feed on a variety of invertebrates, including bees, wasps, beetles, flies, caterpillars, and ants.

This is a 1st for the water dish!

Middle schooler finds coin from Troy in Berlin – The History Blog At first, archaeologists wondered if the coin was a “modern loss”—perhaps dropped by a collector in recent years. However, a professional excavation of the discovery site suggests a much deeper connection.

Another piece with a little more info on that ancient Greek coin found in Berlin www.thehistoryblog.com/archives/75848

3 Southern California residents sentenced in bear suit insurance fraud scheme Three Southern California residents have been sentenced in a bizarre insurance fraud scheme which prosecutors say involved them staging fake bear attacks on high-end cars.

People tried to scam insurance by dressing up as a bear and wrecking luxury cars.

"Investigators then took the video to biologists with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife to also look at the video. The biologists said, 'it was clearly a human in a bear suit.'"

And from elsewhere at the museum… They recently renovated and reopened, and it all felt very fresh and springy today. Another great Yale museum that I hadn’t visited in a long time.

The American gestapo abducted an 85 year-old widow.

Was she one of the worst of the worst? No, her step-son, a retired Alabama state trooper, got ICE to put her in a detention center to deport her because he wanted all of his father's inheritance.

Sounds like the son is the worst of the worst.

✨Riot at the arena!✨

This fresco depicts a riot at the arena in Pompeii. The fresco likely depicts the riot that broke out in 59 CE between Pompeians and the neighbouring Nucerians.

Devastating: Hampshire College is permanently closing following the Fall 2026 Semester. A beautiful institution & community that has done so much for so many. My child is a current Hampshire senior. Hampshire's approach to education is so unique, humane, & exciting—I've seen it first hand. Tragic
