I was so against the Gravenberch signing at the time but he’s turned into an elite level midfielder at 23. His ability to evade the press, carry the ball, tackle etc. is top tier. Just goes to show how far a little bit of faith and the right situation/role can go

I’d be a lot more worried if Jones was the right back, and it’s a huge game for him in the centre - need to see the ability to move the ball quickly and not get overwhelmed by the physicality/pace that Newcastle are going to come in with
Really not the game (not that there’s any) to be running your fourth choice right back given how much emphasis NUFC put on wide areas to attack but in theory Szobo gives you the industry/running power there, it’s how he deals with his positioning/awareness
Liverpool signing a Italian centre back is the sort of transfer that was tailor made to maximise my dopamine levels
Just out of Weapons, incredible cinema
Ekitike is really impressive though, really liked (as I hadn’t watched that much of him beforehand) how good he is at the physical stuff, can hold off defenders so well and ride contact
Lots to improve from what we saw today, really didn’t like the dynamic between Gakpo and Kerkez from on out of possession viewpoint in particular, Kerkez was left far too isolated and with how too much space to defend

A new #9 and this dropping at the same time? Let’s gooooooo
There’s clearly a slight overpay on Ekitike but he really excites me, need to watch more but his ball striking is good, has a range of finishes in his locker and his all round game seems so much fun to watch. Excited to see how his movement vibes with Salah, Wirtz etc
The Jota news is completely gut wrenching, can’t begin to explain the happy memories he gave me, my dad and my brother and all the memories he was meant to keep creating and he’s just gone like that. Rest in peace, Diogo, you will always be remembered ❤️
Signed 10+ years ago meaning he predates the current recruitment team that while hasn't signed many central defenders, has definitely preferred aerially dominant ones
Gomez comes close (58% from 3.87) but he was signed 10+ years ago and has clocked a lot of full back minutes. I think it's a legitimate issue considering the team is getting smaller this summer, especially at full back
For all that he brings, the aerial ability of Guehi just doesn't strike me as the profile of a Liverpool CB. He's won 55.4% from 3.88 attempts (p90) whereas Liverpool have mainly ran van Dijk (75.5% from 5.3), Konate (71.5% from 4.5) & Quansah (62% from 4.5) in past two seasons
Elite teams being tactically different is great but I’m really happy that my one has gone down the route of having ‘flyers’ (shoutout @scoutedftbl.com) in both right and left back (Kerkez, Bradley, Frimpong) cause oh me oh my it’s going to be fun watching them bomb up and down
From a footballing perspective I think he’s still got more to give this side than Tsimikas, and limited minutes might help get the best out of him. From an off the pitch perspective he’s a leader in the squad and great vibes, losing that would suck
Same, I’d much rather he stuck around than Tsimikas
Yeah I don’t care if his legs are gone I’m not emotionally ready for Andy Robertson to not be a Liverpool player yet
I don’t know what I expected from this summer, but signing Florian Wirtz for £100m+ definitely wasn’t it, and I am beyond excited
What’s the point in going into the market and taking the risk that you may get someone better (considering this is your third choice CB) when you have a high potential homegrown guy that’s come through the academy there right now
Selling Quansah right now would be daft. He’s a 22 year old in a position that tends to mature a bit later that’s dealt with confidence/teething issues but has elite on ball and off ball potential

The title celebrations have been everything and more to what it should have been five years ago. The joy that Tottenham and today have brought has been incredible. I’m so happy for Virgil, Mo, Ali, Robbo and everyone else that didn’t get to do this last time. What a club ❤️
Today we say goodbye to a controversial figure, someone that’s split opinion but given us some great moments along the way… goodbye Darwin Nunez
Can’t believe we’re signing Wirtz, getting the surprise of it coming out of nowhere + gives you someone to base an attack around for years and years who has so much flexibility in where he can play
Want Spurs to win tonight for obvious reasons but also because I think it’s more interesting from a what they do in terms of manager + recruitment standpoint and the profile of player they target with CL football
Why is the line not touching Quansah 😂
Spending the week partying and sunbathing is not optimal for winning football matches
