The world is heavy. Too heavy. Everything is very bad. I don’t know if it can get better, I truly don’t.
But my Board of Alderman President, Megan Green, (@saintlouispres.bsky.social) wrote about St Louis pigeons this week, and I desperately needed that brain break.
Pigeons are awesome.

Welp. Jay and Silent Bob just danced past, right behind the cast of Godspell so yeah, totally normal evening over here
thank you, @publiceyestl.bsky.social !!
The parrot has already requested birthday treats 😁🦅
Today is @publiceyestl's birthday. To celebrate, he would appreciate both more and less October baseball, hear more quiet, resolute dissent and loud, happy children, see more neighbors chatting while walking well-behaved dogs, cats and parrots, and encounter Tiny Libraries on every corner of #stl.
Patriotism? Instead of that sad editorial in the Post-Dispatch today, read this: www.archives.gov/founding-doc...
Losing more sleep over the elderly in the family than I did when the kids were tiny-and teens.
are there any #thirdspaces left in #stl? Especially at night? I know about the various coworking spaces, but I don't need a membership. Just a place to maybe eat, possibly buy a bunch of coffee, and get some busywork done on my laptop. I miss Coffee Cartel!
Happy Birthday @lisaclancy.bsky.social! You are a gem!
I love this idea. We used to go to Homecoming in Durham every year but we only ever went to Calef's for cheese. Falafel would have been amazing!!!
I think Laundromat Owner is my new vocational goal. Maybe with an actual snack and coffee bar, no TVs, happy music & shelves of books. Really good detergent is included, with scents like chocolate chip, lavender, peach crumble & key lime pie. Bonus: people at the laundromat are so interesting.
Ha! You were so quick! I'm trying to use BlueSky more often but I keep forgetting. 👋
Eventually the Adams case will trickle down to someone who will just follow orders and dismiss it.
Make that person historically infamous.
(Recall it was Robert Bork who eventually followed Nixon’s order to fire Archibald Cox)
new, crazy idea: read signs.
How awful. I am so very sorry.
absolutely. He should have been gone years ago.
Ordered four things from ebay last month. They're all still ping-ponging around STL postal facilities. IDK why USPS post office administration is the worst, but somehow it gets even worse every year. Our carriers are ridiculously overworked & nothing gets delivered timely.
Not everyone wants to hear this, but I've seen unexpected & very welcome progress since Pres. Green assumed office. The streets, which still have room for improvement, are better. I see traffic enforcement. And I see open, receptive government where previously there was only shadows & deception.
You will rock this!
out of office=out of office. This is my new 2025 hard line boundary.
they're finicky, but I have a gigantic one that my beige thumb has managed to keep alive. They're so gorgeous in the spring and summer, and they sprout these odd little offshoots with what looks like tiny seed pods!
just one! And one GenX. I'm firmly GenX and was cringing as their voices rose. There are plenty of collaboration spaces at the library. I love this particular one because it's a Carnegie.
it really is. Maybe things have changed, but these were not Gen Z or even Millenials.
There are people from two different generations talking loudly at the library near my house. People have been shooting them shut up looks & leaving in frustration & they're oblivious. This has been fascinating-a study in the shredding of social fabric.
I got home last night and my husband sounded like a very angry sailor trying to put together a "simple" bookshelf 🤣and his macaws were mimicking him, then laughing hysterically. It was a vicious, hilarious cycle.
well, if the new IKEA broom fits...🤣
I don't want to sound too smug here, but I just put an IKEA cabinet together without swearing even one time.
Hi, your timeline is awesome and IDK how you landed on mine, but I am glad you did. 🙂 As for this subject, I couldn't puzzle it out and landed on @sarahkendzior.bsky.social 's sub stack and then her books. Now I'm taking a break from reality & reading fluff while I process it all.
no, I wish I could but I'm working. Definitely not missing the next one, though! Life is slowing down a bit and I can enjoy my pens again.
@pammack.bsky.social hello, fellow STL fountain pen enthusiast! Always excited to find a friend with a common interest. ✒️
oh, good! Thank you! Happy for the growth 😊
