republicans are in charge of everything and they are getting everything theyve ever wanted and doing everything theyve ever wanted and the world is on fire and the global world order is collapsing. is there a correlation? who can say

Beneath Berlin's Potsdamer Platz, an overlooked retail strip has been reborn as a bicycle parking facility and public passage connecting users to the S-Bahn station. Modest in scale but rich in possibilities, it integrates seamlessly into the revitalised entertainment, commercial and office centre.🧵

me, trying to play music on speakers:
"so i know this is crazy but: imagine a wire"
HardPass4 on Twitter tweets: "I'm willing to pay more for quality products if they are made in America, by Americans, who are paid a decent income." The tweet shows Norman Rockwell's "Freedom of Speech" painting, which is often used to show the tweeter is expressing a brave opinion.
HardPass4 on Twitter tweets: "MINIMUM WAGE JOBS WERE NOT MEANT TO BE A CAREER. Why does no one understand this? Entry level jobs are STEPPING STONES to better jobs. No one wants to work towards that though."
HardPass4 on Twitter tweets: "Buy $5 gloves instead of $50 ones. Trust me." The tweet shows a box of "Gorilla Grip" gloves.
The label on Gorilla Grip gloves show they're made in China.
regardless of what happens to the tariffs, they're doomed from the start because the average conservative holds all three of these positions at once:
— virtue signals about supporting US manufacturing
— against increasing the minimum wage
— buys foreign imports because they're cheap
Not sure whose fault it is primarily that most people don't seem to know that the president is basically a manager whose job is to carry out the will of Congress, and not The Country's Boss
is it just me or does this read like a pitch for a white party?
i was in Spain last month and couldn't watch the NBA finals. i avoided seeing the results 💪. just sat down to watch replays of games 6 and 7.
game 6 was awesome. Pascal fast break dunks, TJ antics... 🙌
just saw Tyrese's achilles injury. gut punch. crying. can't even watch the rest of the game 😭
The path is very clear: Republicans are creating a system to allow anybody—you, me, whoever—to have their citizenship revoked, sent to a prison camp in the Everglades, then exported to a labor camp in a third-world country. That entire pipeline could be in place in 24 hours.
you brought up architecture as a parallel, which seems to me to be more nuanced in terms of funding (a lot of great architecture is paid for by the wealthy, but a lot is publicly funded as well). do you have thoughts on what conditions allow fashion artisans to thrive, aside from wealthy patrons?
love this thread. there's a complicated history between artisans and exorbitant wealth, for sure.
it seems to me that this is particularly true in fashion, which is largely driven by individuals spending on their personal aesthetics.
I think 37. FY 0 is not a thing (yet?)
start of YOUR fiscal year 🎂🎉
Now would be a good time to remind people about this rally on Thursday ⤵️
Several of the advocates used wheelchairs, including Gauthier. As they spoke, Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce president Laurie White, sitting in the front row, was overheard saying how "sad" it was for them to be "parading" the people with disabilities before the committee. "It's wrong," she said, as a person who is blind spoke about how RIPTA helped her maintain full-time employment. White was at the hearing to testify against the wealth tax bill.
Imagine showing up to defend the rich and hate on the disabled advocating for themselves. Really wild stuff. 🤯

me watching the news: oh right
I filmed this yesterday on my way to Lousiana where my constituent Rümeysa Öztürk is being wrongfully held by ICE. I’m there now demanding her release. More to come.
Crucial context here: @adamisacson.com suggests that there may be as many as 31 people imprisoned in CECOT whose names have never been made public.
Their families have literally no public acknowledgment or way of knowing where their loved one is being held.
That is a classic disappearance.
How the hell does anyone know that these guys are legitimate and lawful federal officers and not kidnappers?
this is Mohsen Mahdawi, the green card holder who was just arrested by ICE for rendition at his citizenship interview
Mohsen Mahdawi of White River Junction, Vermont was illegally detained by ICE during what was supposed to be the final step in his citizenship process.
Mr. Mahdawi, a legal resident of the US, must be afforded due process under the law and immediately released from detention.
republicans are disappearing people under the guise of fighting antisemitism and can’t even pretend to give a fuck when a jewish governor’s house gets firebombed on passover
