Total lunar eclipse, the Blood Moon taken with a 4 inch telescope at 3:45am PST on March 3, 2026. Moon is a beautil coppery color.

Despite all the clouds, there was a moment when the Blood Moon shone through. Taken mid-eclipse from southern interior, BC. Using a 4 inch refracting telescope on March 3, 3:45am PST.

Wow! I can't wait to see this in person!!

Prob because the brownish water adds colour and the lens distorts star reflections.

Castle Mountain, Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada. Pure beauty. I found a small puddle to capture the reflection of a frosty Castle Mountain in early morning twilight.

Red aurora flooding the sky and reflecting in the Texas Bayou waters. Taken on the night of November 11, 2025

I was at a photo workshop in the Texas Bayou on November 11, 2025 and this happened. The last thing I thought I would be photographing in Texas would be the northern lights! Red flooded the sky and reflected off the Bayou. I couldn't believe it!

Comet A6 Lemmon's closest approach to the Sun is on November 8th, 2025. I took this image on October 29th showing a huge increase in activity around the core. A very zoomed in shot using a 16 inch telescope f/18, 7400mm focal length with Canon R6.

Happy Halloween Bluesky! Here is a ghostly phantom of the night, Comet A6 Lemmon. Taken with a 300mm telescope and luminance filter, 60 X 1 minutes exposures stacked. Dust and gas flow from the head blown by the solar wind.

Comet A6 Lemmon is very dynamic. Moving closer to the sun, the dust tail (yellow) is increasing and the bluish ion tail is being slammed by the solar wind. Captured it the morning of Oct. 14 with my 12 in telescope and filters. 1 hour total exposure time

I captured Comet Lemmon early October 7, 2025. Using my 300mm Ceravolo telescope and CCD camera. About 30 minutes of total exposures using LRGB filters. The tail is much longer than shown in this 1 degree field of view.

During my two week visit to Ireland, I got one clear night for astrophotography. A single 20 second shot using a Canon R6 and Sigma 14mm, f/1.8 lens. This is the Screeb fishing hut in Connemara, Ireland.

Thanks for posting my photo, however, the added colour saturation does not do it justice.

This beautiful galaxy, ngc 7331, has a new supernova at its centre. Taken on July 28th, 2 weeks after it was discovered. For a short time, this star that violently exploded will outshine its own galaxy and then fade from view. Capture with my Ceravolo 300mm telescope.

Thank you! With a 14mm lens, if I stay around 20 seconds, the stars will not trail. In very dark skies, I can pick up a lot of detail in 20 seconds and with a lens that is fast, f/1.8.

Thank you so much, James!

yes, dark skies makes all the difference, including the moon being out of the way. This place was in Bortle 2, almost as good as it gets. There were a few clouds around. I used a 14mm lens wide open at f/1.8 and 20 second exposures for each pano frame.

Wow, thank you so much! It was beautiful solitude except for a little muskrat occasionally making ripples ๐Ÿ˜.

No, that would saturate the whole image. I took 30 second shots consecutively for four hours. Then stacked them in a software called Starstax
