When I rewatched Power Rangers as an adult I was surprised by how 90% of the time it was the five beautiful popular kids making fun of the ostensible bullies Bulk and Skull

The best thing about Clayface is the promise that every movie in the DCU doesn't need to fit into the same tonal/structural box which is something the MCU has struggled with
How I do at pinball tonight is really going to determine my placement in the finals. If I somehow manage to pull a perfect night (four first place finishes...I won't) I end up in the A division!
Will never see the Thor/Selvig bar scene without thinking about the Kenneth Branagh interview where he's like "This Foo Fighters song we put in the movie...we were just stunned by its thematic resonance. It felt like it was written for it."
Then you watch the movie and it's barely audible
Plus it leads to the central hook of the movie (Thor's banishment)
The Frost Giant battle in Thor is one of the most narratively efficient action scenes in the whole franchise.
It introduces all of Thor/Loki's powers, the personalities of six main characters through action, hints at Loki's backstory, shows everything Mjolnir can do and fits a kaiju in there
Asgard never looked better. The "lets make it look more Game of Thrones-y" decision in The Dark World ruined it.
They really lucked out by getting someone talented who also happened to be a huge '60s Thor fan.
Look how affectionate he is towards Sif and the Warriors Three
I don't think anyone got Thor in the movies better than Branagh and any of the things holding that movie back were just due to how cheap they were on making that first phase of Marvel movies.
Watching Rock Star for the Friends podcast and as a Stephen Herek fan it’s insane to watch him vacillate between the tones of Bill and Ted and Mr Hollands Opus in the same stretch of film
There's a new episode of My Summer With Superman up (our last before we rebrand to My Summer With Supergirl) but more importantly, the website has been updated with show notes for every episode!
There's lots of pogs pictures with the new ep!

What the hell kind of name is Yellow Dog?
As a kid I assumed it was based on a book series called The Adventures of Yellow Dog or that it was doing the weird thing Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey did where it was a remake that crammed the original title in after a colon, but it’s wholly original
It’s been 30 years and I still don’t understand why Far From Home: The Adventures of Yellow Dog is called that
Haha appreciated! I was reading back and forth and got them swapped!
This story is about The Living Monolith becoming a sexy young woman
The Living Monolith djing and saying Where It’s At..I got Tutankhamen an a microphone”
Floored by this moment in late vol 1 Amazing Spider-Man
Happy Superman day, from Superman’s pal Bibbo!
Jimmy Olsen saying “Man, Superman’s gonna kick some Nazi butt from here to Pluto.” in Lois and Clark
Happy Superman Day, baby!
Happy Superman Day!
I find Superman nerds a little too married to whatever continuity or tonal aspects that they first attached to (there’s great arguments for the Kent’s being alive OR Dead, ditto Superboy being part of his origin) that it’s fun to find what are the things without which you no longer have a Superman
Superman is such a varied character and there’s 90 years of great stories in pretty much every medium, so what are the essentials?
Happy Superman Day! You should celebrate by listening to every My Summer With Superman episode, but if you had to pick one, I’d suggest this one where @thechrishaley.bsky.social and I try to pick the Core Four attributes that must be in every Superman take

I find the existence of one-hit wonders to be kind of beautiful. The idea that even if it's not reproducible, seemingly non-exemplary creative people can tap into the collective unconscious to create an earworm
This is also early enough that it's before Frank started to lose his touch (dude was 91 when he stopped drawing it)
Some beautiful Margo-centric Apartment 3-G sunday strips.
Am officially the proud owner of the original art from these two Apartment 3-G strips from right around the time I started reading Apartment 3-G
Friendly but firmed my way into cutting my internet bill in half
Two characters staring at an erupting volcano in the distance. Subtitle reads “Sounds like you want Godzilla to show up.”
Me watching every movie
But she's great on planes. We got to Ireland without a problem.
