Watched MASTHISKA MARANAM (2026) the 7️⃣1️⃣6️⃣th film I've seen with an exploding helicopter.

A rare example of a virtual reality chopper fireball.
Watched STRIP SEARCH (2004) controversial post-September 11 political commentary directed by Sidney Lumet and starring Glenn Close and Maggie Gyllenhaal. You can admire the intention, but the film is rendered dramatically inert by heavy-handed delivery and its rigid formalism.
With the unseasonably hot weather in Philly this week, I thought I'd throw it back to our video of the end fight in Strike Commando, which I made during a heat wave last year.
Remember to like and subscribe, and hopefully we'll get more videos up on the channel soon!

I have indeed. Though I’m in the ‘no Miilla, no party‘ camp when it comes to that film.
Watched P STORM (2019) the 7️⃣1️⃣5️⃣th film I've seen with an exploding helicopter.

One of a surprising number of prison movies to feature a chopper fireball. Others include The Last Castle, Half Past Dead 1&2, and - the subject of our next podcast episode - Wedlock.

I do indeed! It’s a quick chopper fireball but not as quick as The Delta Force which happens within 6 seconds of the film’s start.
New review, "Cop Game" (1988), directed by Bruno Mattei and starring Brent Huff.

We get stuck in on this Dolph Die Hard in a high school classic, complete with taint shots, caffeine shirts, and a baddie who looks like the lead singer of Everclear.

We need more!
Or flicks the ball up and then volleys it into a helicopter. Either way, I like it.
One of only two films to feature a helicopter blown up by an exploding American football.
From THREE KINGS (1999)
Yes, we’ve got it on our lists. It was remade about 20 years ago as samurai commando 1549 which also has a chopper fireball
I feel you really missed an opportunity this week...
“Frozen in ice for over three-hundred years, a deadly samurai warrior… lives again!”

I enjoyed this delicious scene immensely…
Watched X, Y, & ZEE (1972) the 1️⃣1️⃣4️⃣th Michael Caine film I've seen. It's far from a good film, but there's plenty of entertainment to be had from Elizabeth Taylor and Michael Caine who spend most of their time on screen hurling insults at each other.
😂
There's also this amazing moment...
Fun fact. It wasn’t in the script, Roddy just did that. He brought his own rocket launcher.
Tragic really but he is Rowdy for a reason.
Show me Rowdy Roddy Piper exploding a helicopter with a rocket launcher.
From TERMINAL RUSH (1996)
From THE FIREBIRD CONSPIRACY (1984)

Our review of Jean Claude Van Damme's DERAILED (2002) - a title, that with the benefit of hindsight, doubles as an eerily accurate description of his career at this point.

Cover art for the film featuring women with machine guns.
Found this on Tubi under the alt name Lunatic Frog Women. Starts well, ends well but sags in the middle. Women convicts with specific sets of skills come together to steal a box of diamonds. I especially liked that when someone dies they do a little jump in the air, often mistimed.

DEAD HEAT (1988) never gets old. Especially this scene.
