WARSH: Well, if i gave a student anything other than an A, the dean would summon me because I would've hurt his self-image

and that's where it should've ended. that should've been pounced upon.

WARSH: The broad contours of the economy are improving. The potential of the economy, the real results of the economy are improving.

TINA SMITH: The reality is there was almost 0 job growth in 2025. That looks to me like not a roaring economy, but a weak economy.

Inside Immune Amnesia Study reveals how measles infection reduces protection against other diseases

A chilling result of measles few highlight is immune system amnesia after infection.

The knowledge built up by a person’s immune system is suppressed, and potentially reset downwards, by measles.

(Not saying it’s not in your article; which I’ve not read yet.)

Things like this belie the lies.

I still get pissed that Apple issued recalls for chargers that could burn one and connectors that could electrocute but avoided contacting owners directly, each one they could track because devices are connected to Apple ID’s.

Farage backed Mandelson’s appointment, called him a β€œvery intelligent man”,β€œenormously talented bloke,” and even offered to work with him on a Trump trade deal. The moment it backfired, he changed his tune & said Starmer should resign. He is a charlatan.

when in italy, one should only think about cars and keep an eye out for them ... they drive like lunatics there.

Highways and cars have a kind of freedom that scheduled departures couldn’t match.

At the end of WW2 the rail industry had only had to cope with cars on roads. It was the interstate system that caused railroads to generally abandon passenger service and become bulk freight haulers.

We did similar when C&O abandoned their passenger service.

My dad drove the Vista Cruiser alongside on the interstate as we kids and mom went to grandmas on the train then we all came home in the car.

Electric vehicles were extremely inefficient then. The ic engine for cars was superior then. It took us a century and the ubiquity of affordable Li-ion battery tech to make electric cars a competitive force.

I don’t know that it was so much actively dismantled as passively fell into unprofitability as individuals could own a car.

I imagine that we could see the national population of horses, or those along interurban lines, similarly dropping as the density of autos increased.

It is likely that Trump's Iran catastrophe will lead to some kind of compensation for all the countries the US has screwed (which is all of them). We would do well now to lay groundwork for seizing assets of the Palantirs and Musk fortune that enabled Trump's rise and invasion.

Big Carbon got its return on investment with this move of Roberts ... then they doubled down and paid to get Gorsuch (son of disgraced EPA Administrator Anne Gorsuch) onto the court.

Palantir put out the most cartoonishly evil statement possible. They’re so arrogant and self-confident they don’t seem to believe their fascistic plans can be opposed.

We must get rid of Palantir altogether.

In the same manifesto, Palantir's owners argued that we need a national military draft, that soft power is over, and that we were too hard on Germany and Japan after World War II. I don't think that company should be allowed to exist anymore.

We let the worst people on Earth become the most powerful people on Earth, at a time when the most powerful people on Earth had ready access to the tools to destroy Earth.

Those words will be on humanity's gravestoneβ€”should any of a dozen rolling disasters cause global collapse.

Clownishly evil sociopaths like Elon Musk, Sam Altman, Peter Thiel, Marc Andreessen, Donald Trump, Stephen Miller, Larry Ellison and Benjamin Netanyahu should be *nowhere near* the levers of global powerβ€”and increasingly both the left *and* the right see it. So what do we do now?
