We learned the FL Gov approved a request to swap ownership of 324 acres of Withlacoochee State Forest with a golf resort interested in expansion. FNPS shared our objections with FFS in October and again today. Read our follow up letter to the FFS Director in full here: https://buff.ly/3P8RApc

Cat food is really bad for them, but you can get a good turtle pellet like Mazuri (for aquatic turtles) and that will give them a good boost!

Meet Emelia. She too found herself in the path of a car. She’s a three-toed #boxturtle and was put back together like Humpty Dumpty by CMTR. She still has her back legs but lost part of her tail. This nugget was lucky to not damaged her spine. #boxiesofbsky

Meet Kirk, a three-toed #boxturtle who had a fateful interaction with a moving vehicle and lost his hind legs and cracked his plastron. He’s now in turtle retirement with me. #boxturtlesofbluesky
