Yep. Additionally, (as far as I understand) a lot of that AAVE comes specifically from queer circles, particularly from ball culture. But that's another layer people don't want to acknowledge.

Reflecting on my time at Level Up Showcase last night, it was so heartening to see how much enthusiasm the next generation of game devs have for their craft. My hope is that if the industry doesn’t shape up and make room for them, that they’ll continue to make games on their own, for themselves 💜
