It's a bit the Homo Academicus moment of Marxism right now...

As a library dweller and former resident of the city, I really enjoyed this article on Berlin's libraries by Laney Lenox. I'd definitely recommend anyone with a connection to the city to dig into the @slowberlin.bsky.social literary archives 👌

The worst is that this just happened to me with an application, not because I misspelled the person's name, but it was misspelled in the programme of a conference... and I copy pasted it -_-
LOUDRE? Audrey LOURDE.. that's maddening...
Very disappointing to read a well-established literary scholar’s article about François Bon and see that he paid very little attention to the spelling of women’s names. Published in 2005, Akerman was hardly a niche filmmaker...
Important interview free to read here. Congratulations to both Martin and Dave @frenchstudies.bsky.social

Ok we all need some silliness right now, so I'll tell you that there is a polish rapper called "Taco Hemingway" who produced a song called "I fell in love next to a pharmacy", in which he raps about a specific painkiller - so now his fans are emptying Polish pharmacies because they see it as merch.
My level of exhaustion can be interpreted from my posts: commenting articles from the Guardian means "exhausted"
getting some help rereading my applications, and fact checking pretty much everything I print
personally what I find more shocking is how he's always a total dick about his partner
In an interview with CNN, he says he finds his quite astonishing that we watch sports that involve people getting career-ending injuries on live television, all the time, for our entertainment.

Of course, something MIGHT happen, but it is very very unlikely.
When I see that tower, I definitely am not shocked. H is not really doing this for the difficulty of the climb but because he's always wanted to climb a building & saw an opportunity to make some money out of it.
As Honnold himself would say: this is extremely low risk for a climber like him. It is an easy climb when trained at the level H is. It is a bit like when I go to the climbing gym and I know I can easily climb a certain grade. I know I will not fall.

It's a bit of revolutionary Breton history, but it is a pity to see that men's wages were significantly raised more than women's wages, despite it being their strike.
He was targeted by local factory owners for supporting the Penn Sardin strikes. Lucky you! I also got a postcard with the most important of Penn Sardin Strikers: women! Women demanding better working conditions at fish canning factory, led a successful six-week long strike.
A little bit of Breton working-class history, taking you back to 1924! Tonight, my partner is celebrating their birthday and I picked this card from my collection for the occasion. It portrays the failed assassination attempt of the communist mayor of Douarnenez, Daniel le Flanchec.
This UK university finance dashboard is so good. Incredible public service.
