„The US spy tech company Palantir published a manifesto extolling the benefits of American power and implying some cultures are inferior to others – in what MPs have called “a parody of a RoboCop film” and “the ramblings of a supervillain”.

Back in September, I wrote about Ukraine's long-range drones. Now that they are regularly and accurately striking Russian refineries and oil infrastructure, I think it's worth reading again, for those who missed it. Gift link:

This is but a replica of the argument of using someones likeness via AI for a movie or ad… its using their name for their benefit without permission. All should be illegal
We do need to petition governments to implement significant punishments for such artificial publications — especially when they fraudulently misrepresent real authors without their permission.
We shouldn't tolerate Big Tech diluting the centuries-old tradition of peer-reviewed academic excellence.
Everything will continue to get worse until AI is strongly regulated, and many current uses of it are just banned outright.
This is crazy!
Hunting The Hunters: FPV Drone-Killing Devices Emerge On Ukraine's Front Lines
FPV drones controlled through fiberoptic cables have proven nearly impossible to counter since they first emerged in Ukraine in early 2024.

The country that shares a 1,340 km border with Russia is now saying Europe can't rely on Washington.
Sanna Marin: Europe needs unified military forces — and Ukraine must be inside them.
These people ought to be ashamed for overstaying their time in office by decades, thereby effectively withholding from Generation X the ability to define our own future. I will never forgive them for their contributions to the overall decline of the US, and our accelerating climate crisis.
“Expanding the Supreme Court is no different that redistricting in California and Virginia. It is a proportionate response to Republican attempts to degrade liberal democracy and move America toward a post-liberal order.”

In terms of the damage wrought against our society, government, and democratic institutions, Rupert Murdoch, Elon Musk, and Peter Thiel are among the most dangerous immigrants to ever take up residence in the United States. The country would be much better off if they had never come here.
That is my hope as well. I just wish that more Americans knew who these people behind Vance are, and what their end game is. People of their ideological ilk comprise a miniscule percentage of the populace, but their wealth gives them outsized power and influence. As does their pathological ambition.
Based on my observations of their antics, actions, and the deliberately cruel and spiteful philosophy motivating them, the "R" after their names should be interpreted as - pardon my language - "Ratf*cker," rather than "Republican." This attempt to sabotage our future on Earth Day supports my case.
Trump and those who work for him are the most despicable Americans of our era. The people who would do this to those who risked their lives to fight for you are the scum of the earth

I put the Russians in their place at the UN Security Council and debunked one of Putin's historical myths 👊🏻
When Kyiv was the capital of the largest state in Europe in the 12th century, where Moscow stands today, there was a swamp where only frogs croaked 🐸😉

Washington Post Editorial Board headline: “The Texas gerrymander freak out. What’s happening in Texas is not a threat to democracy.”
Washington Post Editorial Board headline: “Virginia plunges America deeper into the gerrymandering abyss. The redistricting scheme was always a power grab by Democrats. Voters went along with it.”
The Washington Post Editorial Board was fine with Republicans gerrymandering in Texas.
But when Democrats responded in Virginia, it’s a “power grab” that “plunges America deeper into the gerrymandering abyss.”
There aren't enough expletives in the English language to fully express the degree of disgust and contempt I feel towards RFK Jr and everyone else in the Trump regime. I'm glad you were there to provide some brief, vicarious satisfaction via these images of your exchange with that odious creature.
1. The central claim in the indictment of SPLC is a lie.
The DOJ/FBI accuse SPLC of lying to donors about seeking to “dismantle” extremist groups while secretly funding them. But the funds were used to infiltrate & help law enforcement dismantle these groups. Kash Patel knows this is the truth…
Thought that maybe, just maybe, @seattletimes.com would do the right thing and slip a bare-minimum credit into their piece on the story I broke, including my screenshot of the IG story, shortly before it vanished.
Nah. They don't care. Still pretending they got the story on their own.
Hey, @seattletimes-rss.bsky.social you literally GOT this story from me. I broke it days ago on Bluesky and then on my own website, PubliCola. THE POST WAS DOWN BY YESTERDAY. I RAN INTO YOUR REPORTER WHO THANKED ME FOR BREAKING THIS NEWS today. Give my independent outlet credit immediately.
What's it called when you take someone else's reporting, use a screen shot they obtained before the person took the post down, and then fail to credit the reporter? That is called stealing someone else's work.

Credit me. Do better.
All by design, it seems. For Vance, Thiel, Mercer, and others, Trump’s descent into lunacy may work in their favor.
God, how I hate these people. So few, causing so much destruction and distress for millions, all simply to break the country to fulfill their whims.

No, there's really nothing to it. Just another guy trying to draw attention to himself by insulting things that bring enjoyment to a lot of people, spanning both generations and the political spectrum. It is a tiresome, block-worthy tactic used by wannabe influencers who are full of themselves. 🙄
I'm grateful that there is at least one member of Congress who is capable of expressing even a modicum of the rage I feel towards members of the Trump regime.
"During a time of massive geopolitical tension, governments will meet to discuss how to transition away from fossil fuels - the source of the current energy shock - and towards abundant, low-cost, reliable renewable energy."

Per the Speech & Debate Clause, Senator Wyden, Rep Massie & literally any congressperson could leak the “secret interpretation of surveillance law” without fear of prosecution.
I get not wanting to test it under Trump, but you have the ability to leak it if it’s that bad. Do your duty, Senator.
I will be gobsmacked if my Republican "representative," Dan Newhouse, votes no. Once upon a time, he had enough of a moral code to vote twice to convict Trump in his impeachment trials, but has been pretty much a MAGA stooge thus far in Trump’s second term, despite the fact that he's leaving office.
FISA is a national security program that, without proper guardrails, is prone to abuse and results in violations of privacy rights. The Republican majority is trying to push through a five-year extension in the middle of the night. 🧵
