My mum has just updated her phone and suddenly needs to verify her age. She doesn't have a credit card. She doesn't drive, so has no driver's licence. There are literally no other options for her to verify her age.

Indeed. My continuing contention is that at the very least the cost of living crisis is only as important as the impact on life of the most intense period of change *ever*, and that it might well be the case that the latter is actually more important to general discontent.
