there's like. one (1) example of a non-pureblood with a garlean first name and it's menenius, whose maternal family were garlean elezen nobility and was adopted by his pureblood garlean stepfather

and with first names it feels like a gap left by the earlier content's weird handling of names overall, that there isn't any evidence of people adopting (or being made to adopt) garlean-ized first names in places that have been occupied for a long time

YEAH... with fordola we don't actually know what her parents' name was before garlean colonization, but they seem to have entirely adopted lupis as well (and since fordola's a born citizen it was probably her only name)

the werlyt kids we don't know what surnames they had prior to baelsar either 🤔

yotsuyu and asahi's garlean surname isn't actually their original family name! there's an interesting thing there where asahi's parents are still called naeuri by the soldier in the flashback of yotsuyu and asahi as kids, so there seems to be some kind of dynamic there
