Give a brief explanation for how you think your commentary or critique (or both) will contribute to building the legal communication discipline.
2. State your working thesis or plan for commentary or critique. This does not have to be fully developed but should be enough for us to assess mission-compliance and potential scholarly contribution.
We invite proposals for these pieces with the following guidelines:
1. Identify the LC&R piece (or pieces) for commentary or critique (or both).
We encourage creativity, including pairing of articles, and co-authorships. We encourage first time authors to see this as a path for entry to scholarly dialogue. We encourage seasoned
authors to share new reflective perspectives.
We invite authors to select a previously published work from the LC&R archive & respond with commentary, critique, or both. We have curated a list of articles we think are
ideal for commentary and critique, but this list is not exclusive. Authors are welcome to choose from the complete LC&R archive.
Call for Proposals for commentary and critique, an opportunity to engage with previously published works from the LC&R archive. We will accept and review proposals for commentary and critique on a rolling basis. Submit your proposal to lcr@alwd.org.
Call for Articles for Legal Communication & Rhetoric: JALWD Volume 23 (Fall 2026). Deadline: Sept. 1 for articles up to 15,000 words; essays up to 5,000 words on topics related to legal communication or rhetoric primarily intended for our practitioner audience. alwd.org/lcr-submissi...
