MN ICE WATCH 4/8:
the past four weeks, the metro area has still been seeing what would average out to, MINIMUM, an abduction every single day. slightly more, usually.
and that’s only what we’ve been privy to, there are guaranteed more that have been happening too quietly for us to catch

I've done my part. Anyone else who has a Ko-Fi, please write in your responses against AI in their survey.

I am quite tired of this. So many companies that are in "support" of authentic artists turn around to cater against the humanities.
YOU CAN FIGHT ICE BY ANNOYING THEM - MESS UP THEIR FOOD/DRINK ORDERS - LOSE THEIR TICKETS/RESERVATIONS - OVERTIGHTEN LUG NUTS, STRIP SPARK PLUGS - GIVE THEM INCORRECT BUT REAL-SOUNDING INFORMATION - RECORD THEM WITH YOUR PHONES - DISRUPT THEM WITH LOUD NOISES (CAR ALARMS, MUSIC, BANGING METAL) AND BRIGHT LIGHTS (FLASHLIGHTS, HEADLIGHTS) - SHAME THEM Fuck yeah THE FASCISTS WANT COMPLACENCY. DO NOT GIVE IT TO THEM. Fuck them White supremacist IT IS YOUR RIGHT TO MAKE «MISTAKES"
Monkey wrenching is such an under appreciated form of protest
It’s day 106 of the ICE occupation of MN.
Although the number of ICE agents here has decreased, we know that ICE is still active here and ramping up in other states.
We stand in solidarity with all communities experiencing ICE activity, and with everyone standing up to keep their neighbors safe.
It’s day 110 of the ICE occupation of MN.
Today’s record breaking warmth in the Twin Cities, paired with trusted patrollers, meant that many kids who have been in hiding were able to go to the park playgrounds for the first time in months.
Abolish ICE (so kids can return to their childhoods!)
It’s day 112 of the ICE occupation of MN.
On Thursday the Minneapolis City Council has the opportunity to override the mayor’s veto. See this excellent thread from Eric on why this is so important.
Evict ICE, not our neighbors!
I wrote a (long) thing!
I must also credit the LA Reporting Collective conversations that really informed a lot of this, especially @papayathemariah.bsky.social at @lapublicpress.bsky.social, @adamrose.bsky.social of @freedom.press, and photojournalist Zaydee Sanchez.
And my work at @fi2w.org!
Wildsea TTRPG: A worn, weathered small ship, with stilled chainsaw-drives, lists in the tree canopy, with no sign of life aboard but worrying blood-like trails across the deck and down the sides...
The first story-episode of @streampunksrpg.bsky.social 'BloomTide' TTRPG on @althaven.bsky.social, using the Wildsea setting, began with the sighting of a 'Ghost ship'...
LETS GO WISCONSIN
NEW: When a Wisconsin mayor ended his city's contract with Flock (the AI surveillance company), he was stunned to see Flock refused to remove cameras.
So he covered them with plastic bags.
Now local activists are taking their fight to Madison & the Dane County sheriff, wanting more cameras gone.
This is for people who need honesty:
Do you want to help but don't know how? Have you not volunteered since community service was required in high school but want to? Do you desperately want to do something but the idea of giving up your only free time is a big hurdle?
I got you.
Going live now with episode 1 of BloomTide. Come watch the start of the adventure of this Wildsea game on YouTube and Twitch right now!

trying to get some new parents in my neighborhood some baby gear :) the stroller is being gifted from another neighborhood but is missing this connector piece that we are hoping for
this is wildly specific, but if anyone knows of where i could find an adapter for a graco infant carrier to connect to a discontinued pre-2005 bob’s jogging stroller, i would be so appreciative! we are also on the lookout for a 3D model of this piece to attempt to print if we can.
MINNESOTA:
ICE appears to be targeting Roseville pretty hard today, multiple abductions have already been reported. if you can be on the lookout and warn your neighbors, please do. protecting each other is up to us.
jacob frey can pretend to be progressive til the cows come home, but at the end of the day, he is a spineless coward and an accomplice to the devastation of our communities in minneapolis. fuck ice. fuck the sheriffs. fuck frey. and fuck walz while we’re at it too.
“This veto is a slap in the face of our immigrant neighbors who have been demonized and forced back into the shadows and the community who has spent months fundraising to keep families together.” - Council Member @jchavezmpls.bsky.social
“This is a veto rooted in cowardice, not the livelihoods of our residents.”
- City Council President @elliottpayne.org
Another tough day for team “there’s no point in complaining about AI, just accept it.”
A veto of the 60-day pre-eviction notice tells people that you want them evicted into the cold earlier and that you’re unwilling to protect our immigrant neighbors.
Let Mayor Frey know you want him to sign Pause Evictions, Save Lives.

It’s day 99 of the ICE occupation of MN.
We’re still out patrolling and raising money and delivering groceries to keep our neighbors safe.
Call and ask Mayor Frey to do the same by NOT vetoing Pause Evictions, Save Lives.

[setting the world record for the longest ever scream]
A playful poster graphic featuring flat illustrations of national postal services around the world that use bird logos. From March 2022
Postal services around the world that use birds as logos. One of my favorite poster graphics I've made! 🐦✉️
a bunch of local musicians and bands recently released a 30-song album called thaw! each of the tracks were written and recorded during the ongoing federal occupation in minnesota.
all proceeds will be used to support minneapolis communities 🫶
We were literally watching our community provide a ceremony at the Whipple building.
Hennepin County Sheriff’s then began to escalate tensions. This was disrespectful to our community, our culture, and our ancestors.
This created fear and was an attack on our right to peacefully assemble.
It’s day 92 of the ICE occupation of MN.
Today more than 70 neighbors testified to Mpls City Council members - the vast majority of testifiers were in support of extending pre-eviction notice to 60 days.
Our neighbors need more time, and we hope the council will vote to approve on Thursday.
Chavez isn't the only progressive elected official who has been out on the streets during Operation Metro Surge and beyond — but he is possibly the most personally affected by the operation. Two of his uncles have been deported in the past few months.
I profiled Jason Chavez, the Minneapolis city council member who has been embedded in community efforts to combat ICE.
“To leave your constituents to face off with a racist fascist regime on their own, without having someone that has some power…I could not let my constituents be out there alone.”
It’s day 95 of the ICE occupation of MN.
This weekend, Minneapolis is waiting to see if Jacob Frey will sign the Pause Evictions, Save Lives policy passed by the City Council.
The mutual aid fundraising has been enormous, but the needs continue, even as donations have slowed.
Call the mayor!
