D&D therapy is a great way to feel engaged in therapy and connected with your therapist. It’s fun and engaging, allowing you to let your walls down more easily by expressing yourself through your character.

So how can you find the right therapist for you?

By being selective! You can check out psychologytoday.com and look for a therapist whose bio resonates with you.

If their profile makes you feel like you already know them, that's a great sign that you’ll connect.

You’re not going to lay your heart bare if you don’t feel connected.

I can say this for certain because I’ve worked with people ages 6 to 70 who faced trauma, depression, and anxiety.

They could only truly open up when they felt connected. And connection is where the real work in therapy is done.

Why do 50% of people abandon therapy before their first session?

It’s because they’re not engaged. They don’t feel connected to their therapist or the therapy itself. Opening up and sharing your deepest feelings can be difficult and even harmful if you don't feel a connection.
