This Is Just To Say
I have turned off
the AI features
that were in
the update
and which
you were probably
hoping
to monetize
Fuck you
they were stupid
so unnecessary
and so annoying

strange these op-eds about women being too angry have all come out the last few days when during the same time there's also been a massive investigation published on an online rape academy with millions of viewers a month and none of them have bothered to even cover it, even as news
We weren't good enough friends for me to still have an alternative means of verifying them... I may ask some mutuals if they can.
For now I don't know for sure, but I absolutely believe that this is a thing that Facebook/ Meta would do.
A distant friend from a while back *appears* to have resurrected their Facebook account.
The avatar and all posted images so far appear to be Meta avatar and AI.
Gotta be honest, I'm suspicious as hell that Facebook are "fixing" people using their site less because their friends have also left.
This move will kill Atlanta harder and faster than it's dying now. The fact that London has enough space to accommodate Marvel permanently - on Pinewood of all things - means not enough is shooting over there, either.
This isn't a canary in the coal mine; it's the miners.
I don't know how to explain to the people who pop up when creatives complain about "AI" to say there are legit uses for it just how much they sound like someone saying "Well actually fire is used to make bread" when people are talking about an organized arson ring burning down their fucking houses
If there's one thing Jesus is known for, it's hanging out with rich people and telling them exactly what they want to hear.
Paddy Raff @paddyraffcomedy *reading an article in 30 AD’ 'Meet Jesus, the man who started with NOTHING & built one of the world's fastest growing religions!' Me: wow! *top of paragraph 3* 'With a little help from his father, God' Me: fucking knew it 10:53 am • Mar 12, 2021
Wireless Festival boss defends Kanye West appearance
The managing director of Wireless Festival has defended the decision to choose Kanye West as a headliner, encouraging people to offer the rapper "forgiveness". It follows a backlash over West's scheduled appearance in July, which has seen sponsors pull out of the London event and criticism from politicians. The star released a song called Heil Hitler and sold swastika T-shirts last year. He later apologised and blamed his bipolar disorder.
I've worked in/around the mental health world for many years. It's been my job to teach the nuances of it to qualified medics. I'm very much aware that there are literally thousands of way in which symptoms of a mental health disorder can manifest.
To my knowledge, 'merchandise' isn't one of them.
I've been trying to look some crochet stuff up recently...and the search results are just flooded with AI slop sites.
One highly-ranked result was seven paragraphs of waffle, and then a collection of contradictory advice seemingly sourced from a comment section.
Books are becoming essential again
This is not a 'masculinity crisis', it's a misogyny crisis. This is not a problem with 'masculinity'-- millions of men model positive masculinity every day. This is a problem of male violence. Stop calling it 'masculinity'.

Attie.ai now more unpopular than ICE
It turns out when you try to serve slop on a product people pay for, no one wants it.

We're SO far into it, too.
She says she views HP support as support for her views, and will use the HP money to further her aims.
We've SEEN her use the HP money to roll back trans rights, and fight legal cases on behalf of the worst people.
This is about ongoing harm. That we MUST not fund.
Sweet Jesus.
AI and its pushers are not going to run out of boundary lines to cross until people start being held personally responsible for the complete absence of consent that's rapidly becoming the norm.
This is no longer an electorate compatible with FPTP.
If Labour gave a damn about anything other than being able to use "if you don't vote for us, you'll get Reform" in their own campaigns, they would be discussing AV/ STV/ ANY OTHER VOTING SYSTEM.
Oh yeah, especially the panel shows where they do the pickups at the end devoid of all context, when the audience are starting to check their watches to see if they'll still catch their train - that's always going to need some help.
This is a lovely game - archaeology, mysterious family secrets, rural pubs, ancient horrors... go and treat yourself.
It's certainly useful for editing and leaves options open when removing material...
I'd say that using a laugh from a different point in the show is quite commonly motivated by needing to cover a join of this nature. But also you want to honour the comedian's timing and the live reactions.
Incredibly funny that the president of the United States can do this and retain command of the American Armed Forces, but I said it about a literal Nazi and got fired from a job writing superhero comics.
So here's another excellent reason to avoid Google.
The fact that ANYONE thought this would be a good thing to do, and they got to the stage where they actually did it, is a huge part of why decades of trust have evaporated over a matter of months.
... this is a thing that Google actually still does well - it tells you what it's decided to search for because it's found a close-ish term with a LOT more results - but still lets you opt to use your original search.
Unfortunately, Google's unskippable AI "summaries" have killed it for me.
Dear newer search engines,
I don't care that the thesaurus says these two words are synonyms; in the context I am making my enquiry they are NOT the same thing.
Please at least try to search for *my* wording.
(I'm going to have to relearn Boolean operators, ffs)
A news headline reads: "Chronically ill autistic woman asked to list medical history accidentally filibusters entire GP appointment". Underneath there is a stock image of a female doctor wearing a white coat and a stethoscope, writing notes and smiling as her patient tells her about her symptoms.
Navya Randhawa, 48, told reporters that she hadn’t intended on wasting the session, and was less interested in making a political statement than she was getting that thing on her arm looked at.

So... companies that have committed obscene amounts of theft will not be permitted to operate/ advertise in the UK, right?
Right?
UPDATE: The people from #Claysplained sent me a DM on Instagram to have a little whine about me being mean to them. Frankly I'm not sure the message itself wasn't generated by AI.
The response proves my original thesis: these people have zero understanding of the medium they're trying to emulate.

Suuuuuure, ad at the top of my Gmail.
Nothing says 'professional tool' like calling your shitty AI product Nano Banana 2.
Do you just not know what professional means? I know Google search results have vastly declined in quality, but there are still dictionaries.
