UK Biobank health data listed for sale in China, government confirms The government said medical data of 500,000 people was affected but no personally identifiable information had been made available.

So it looks like the thing that critics said might happen, but were told would never happen, has in fact happened.

Huh I got a much better score than I thought now doing a comparison. I wish I'd screen grabbed it alas - thanks that was fun.

The weird thing is the algorithm at the big river has just got shitter and shitter as far as I can tell. And they got rid of book, film, and music recommendations.

You used to be able to learn things - the sound isolation on the 202s isn't nearly good enough for the recommended application.

This implies to me I have the balance about right.

GenAi is stupid. Sure get ML to do the boring stuff not destroy the very things which make life worth living or the planet.

For that to work we need to get the 0.01% to release the death grip on resources. Looking forward to it getting french-y :/

I, the professional data scientist, am on the AI haters list and have been for weeks. I am also on a list for people who use LLMs for shits and giggles. Neither is correct but the first is more correct.

There is a second list for people who use AI slurs. I'm assume this means slop. Or grifter. 1/2

A anthropomorphic protein cookie, it has huge biceps and different sized eyes. At one time it was bright yellow but now it is faded and scuffed.

If it were a person you would say it has experienced horrors given it's thousand yard stare.

My experience: it is ok at v.small self contained code bases especially where there is a lot of turnkey or boiler plate. I.e. very small Django rest framework APIs. It's pretty good and better than some people I've met. The second it needs to get inventive it's plausible bull time. YMMV of course.

BAFTA pulling a trailer for an autobiographical game about surviving sexual assault only hours before it was said to be a part of a showcase is an exceptionally bad look.

Gen AI and Tabletop - UK Games Expo Panel Questionnaire This informal questionnaire is to gather grassroots information on how AI interacts with the creation and use of material within tabletop across different perspectives - creators, artists, and consume...

I'm chairing a panel on the impact of generative AI on the tabletop industry this year at UKGE. One of the panelists, an academic working in AI ethics, has put together a short survey about it. If folks could fill it out that would be incredible. Thank you!

I made a "chimera selector" out of cardboard.
I will draw temporary tattoos on people for an event so it is kind of my flash sheet.

Tidal man, the sound quality is excellent and they pay better. Why for the love of all that is good is the default behaviour on play album not add that whole album to the play queue.

Play this album next just preempts the rest of a given album then the default switches to add to play queue. 😡

As someone who has gone gf to protect a loved one, I would have preferred sadder music. Maybe Barber's Adagio.

Op isn't wrong though it is satisfying.

A flatscreen display on a "smart" water fountain, demanding to be reconnected to the internet.

In 1999, I was playing a decker in Shadowrun, and tried to distract a guard by hacking a water fountain to overflow, and my GM said "why would a water fountain be on the network? That's fucking stupid. No you can't try."

Well it's 2026 and I just want you to know, Phil, that I FUCKING CALLED IT!

There were some bits that didn't age well mind - I'll never forget seeing Lenny Henry lose his "get the egg as far as you can task" when he got hit with a stop and search. They claimed it was an offensive weapon. I think they made Victoria Wood bail him out and she didn't even get a bonus points.
