Powerscaling is so, so boring to me. I can appreciate the choreography (and do!) but I'm more interested in what story is being told with those, and how that story changes between different pairings. It's way more fun that way

Lightsaber battles became more interesting to me when I realized there is never a true "victor"; every time a party comes out on top, it is at a deep emotional cost to the point of not even being a victory. My best friend also started observing them with her own theory about the Dark/Light

Sure, his exasperation is a funny meme. But it's also setting up Poe's eventual outburst and breakdown on Kef Bir/Ajan Kloss near the end of the film.

It's this fear that drives him to the confrontation with Finn. Everyone seems to know how to handle this except Poe, who feels at a total loss, and like everything they've gone through has been for nothing if the ultimate evil has returned.

Now he's dealing with the conflict between the Jedi and the Dark, and Sith that won't stay dead. He's trying to do what he can, but it might not be enough. What *can* he do, when it comes to the Force? Nothing. He's already learned how defenseless he is to it.

This scene is just one instance of showing how out of his depth Poe feels. He's taken on a leadership role and knows Leia likely doesn't have much time left, and feels he can't step up to the plate. And that was just when he was dealing with Kylo and the First Order.

Oscar is incredibly professional & one of the best actors of our generation, even if he didn't vibe with the line he's not simply gonna phone it in. And his acting choices with Poe have always been incredibly thought out, deliberate and nuanced.
