Oh, I wish that was still the case! They went from Blue Eyed Soul Vegetarian to a vegan version of Healthy Choice or Lean Cuisine
Their version of Gerry Rafferty’s “Baker Street” has never ceased being hilarious, even on the 337th listening. “Fields of Dick” and “Fast Dick” are also genius. Even their low effort my-dicking of that Spin Doctors song is priceless.
Staniel Wilace
Stance Wilcil?
Maybe the Greaseman went with the extreme racism because he knew his main audience was cops on patrol in DC and Baltimore.
He was promptly removed by the staff at the Magic Bag in Ferndale, MI and they paused the movie to apologize
I’ve been hooked on walking for a long time but it really took on a new level when I moved to a house that’s a 35 minute from the LaBagh Woods. It’s a nice reward for walking 2.5 miles through the city.
I don't know my yeast-based spreads lore, but I've read that vegemite has more vegetable-based ingredients than marmite. I've been to the UK, but no one I stayed with introduced me to it.
Do they sell that at Trader Joe's? I've had vegemite but never marmite.
like watching a concert pianist play the flight of the bumblebee. Nobody says they're not gonna do shit quite like chuck schumer. watch the master at work:
I was a huge fan of black metal in the late ‘90s and early ‘00s and that genre was saturated with explicitly fascist bands or “nihilistic” versions of the same sentiments. At least that scene had a couple truly worthwhile releases, unlike the entirety of neofolk.
Old fucks like me remember how the NYPD (led by ol’ Drippy Rudy) went into open rebellion over Dinkins and how the far left despised him as well. I expect a complete replay of that come 2026.
Amazingly, the bit went far enough to be made into a (failed) TV show starring Adam Sandler a good 6 years after the video aired on MTV: youtu.be/x1bfFNojAvI?...
Reek!
Jeffs stopped being born around 1986 and you must be one of the very few Jeff Jrs. to come out of the roughly 30 year Era of Jeffs. There will probably be a Jeffaissance in 2050 so it’ll be cool again like Sophie or other 1920s names became in the past 20 years
Definitely the look of a guy who had moved on from the Bloodhound Gang and was ready for some more cerebral rock and roll.
It’s a flyer on a pole that is advertising courses that teach standup comedy.
Is this Greg Dean or is it his competition? Found this wheat-pasted on a streetlight in Chicago. Attn: @murderxbryan.bsky.social
It’s funny that people who think the woke 2010s went too far were never even at a DIY punk show where one of the bands was dropped bc the bassist cheated on his girlfriend
That's a much better outcome than what happened with their second #1 single of 1981, "I Can't Go For That", which inspired thousands of dumb guys to make "NO CAN DO" a semi-acceptable response to requests in real life situations.
Duke Cunningham! Corrupt, criminal congressman who represented me in in DC back when I lived in SD in the ‘00s. Owner of a boat called The Duke-stir. Ex-fighter pilot. “Top Gun” was based partly on him. Total legend.
@nabalkattu.bsky.social You would love them. Great thrash/black metal but with (probably unintentional) punk production values that you'd appreciate.
This lineup is so stodgy and conservative that it totally negates any joy I get from the fact that they booked the only truly vital white boomer acts still going (Weird Al and Sparks, of course).
Also, if I have to write one more tablet that's just a bitchfest about Ea-nāṣir and his shitty counterfeit copper pieces, I will consider learning to code for Hammurabi.
All the new Walton Goggins fans should get acquainted with Boyd Crowder and Lee Russell.
Can't wait for the Mohinder box set with all 13 minutes of their music spread across 3 multi-colored LPs. The accompanying 43 page photo book will feature a retrospective written by the guy who reviewed Andrew WK's "I Get Wet" for Pitchfork.
Hey, remember those unique record sleeves that were handmade with silkscreens, stamps or newspaper/magazine collages? Well, we've repackaged them in sleeves that are just b&w pics of the dudes rocking out at the Che Cafe. Also, no lyrics but we hired someone to write about the band.
This is what's become of the music scene that was most directly inspired by Fugazi. I can't stand the fucking Numero Group. So gross.
Do you work for the federal govt? Sure sounds like it haha
