and because I can't help myself, read @telliotter.bsky.social's story from a few days ago about where major DOGE operatives are now -- from high ranking positions in the US government to major private companies. This story will never truly be over.

Really proud of us at @wired.com for this. The work we did on DOGE is some of the work I am personally proudest of, and it's amazing to see that work and impact recognized.

What we do know is DOGE's project--shrinking the federal government and attacking programs and people that the administration sees as opposition under the guise of going after waste, fraud, and abuse--continues.

Musk’s DOGE may no longer exist as it did a year ago, but its impact continues to ripple across the government. Some of the young engineers have ascended to senior positions within government. Other people have decamped to the private sector. @wired.com

NEW: WIRED tracked down some of the most prominent figures of last year’s DOGE invasion. Here's where they are now—in government and beyond.

New from me: across federal agencies, workers say religion—specifically Christianity—is showing up their workplace.
“The vibes are bad and people don’t like it.” @wired.com

“This has never happened before,” one government employee tells WIRED. “I have never gotten a message like this from anyone.”
government workers are getting inundated with religion in the office -- read @telliotter.bsky.social:
“There exists a clear throughline of transgressive delight in violating the separation of church and state, of a similar corruptive mindset as the joy they take in forcing our agency to reduce services to the public whose mission it is for us to serve.” - an HHS employee @telliotter.bsky.social

Hungarian election results.
Péter Magyar victory rally.
One way that Orbán sought to entrench power was adopting a new Hungarian constitution in 2011 that classified many policy areas as 'cardinal laws' that require a two-thirds majority vote to change.
With almost 100% of votes counted, the Hungarian opposition has just achieved what seemed impossible.

New from me: Last month ICE agents arrested a Columbia student inside university housing after gaining access to the building by claiming to be police looking for a missing 5 year old. In other words, they used a "ruse." And in many cases, that's legal.
www.wired.com/story/why-ic...
“There's no accountability,” one expert tells WIRED of ICE’s ability to lie to the public and impersonate law enforcement. "The consequence of this is that it’s going to be a systemic harm across all law enforcement.”
