Some towers don’t belong to the center…
but they still hold something.

An exceedingly fluffy moth sitting on a grey cardboard egg tray from my moth trap. It's got a shape like a triangle with rounded mothy corners, and its wings are dark grey with tiny black spots. Its body is super fluffy like a plush toy. Its Legs are also super fluffy like it's wearing fur trousers, ending in little black feet. It also has long black comb-like antennas. It's a male muslin moth. Perfect fluffy moth pal, no notes.

Side view of another delightfully fluffy grey male muslin moth sitting on my hand. This moth has warm grey wings with little black spots, and a very fluffy grey body on top. Underneath, it's fluff is white and orange. It has orange fluffy legs that look a bit like its wearing fuzzy trousers, with little black feets, long black comb-like antennas, and big round black eyes. Perfect moth pal, A+, would recommend.

PSA for new ppl: if you don't like moths, I'm about to be insufferable for several months.

I try to meet people where they are. You don't have to like moths. I do & post them often in Apr-Oct.

Moths are important to many ecosystems & are super-fuzzy flying kittens tho, pls consider liking them. 🦋🐾

There were no other folks around... so either it'd been grabbing leftovers from the bin, or it ran faster than whoever the sandwich belonged to.

Either way it was stopping for no-one, even if it couldn't fly with summat that big. 😂

Small good thing in a fkd up world:

Saw a crow absolutely hoofing it away with a humongous wedge of sandwich on my walk after the post just now.

Properly hilarious cartoon legging it with someone's leftover lunch. What an excellent birb.

Two hooded figures with lamps approach a moonlit, isolated cottage.
A woman answers the door.
We have come for the child, says the hooded figure
So soon? she asks
It is time, says the hooded figure.
The woman is distraught. We should never have got him a library card!
What is done cannot be undone, says the hooded figure
We couldn’t see the harm! We just wanted him to enjoy reading!
For most, it ends there, says the hooded figure, turning away and walking into the wilderness
Oh lord, What have I done! says the woman,
the child walks past her and out into the darkness with them.
Do not cry mother.
I am a writer now.

Digital painting of a dark cloudy sky. The clouds are churning and curling in a chaos of all shades of grey.

Digital painting of a dark cloudy sky. The clouds are churning and curling in a chaos of all shades of grey.

We report on a windy afternoon: there are all these trees which are still painstakingly growing leaves, and flowers too. We can tell this is not an easy day for them. All those flowery trees are shaking, and the petals are flying all over, forming a spring blizzard.

A photo of my left hand with all nails facing the camera. Distributed across all but my pinkie nail, I have painted (parts of) a giant leopard moth against a pale, frosty, sparkly green background.

A close-up of the thumb nail, on which I have painted the moth’s thorax, head, and first pair of legs. It’s mostly fluffy white with touches of grey. The spots on the thorax are a rich dark blue encircled by black. The legs are black with white and blue markings, and the antennae are black with a touch of blue.

A close up of the other 4 nails. In this position it becomes clear that the index, middle, and ring finger nails when lined up depict the abdomen and wings of the moth. The wings are partially spread, just enough to reveal flashes of orange and blue in the abdomen on the middle nail. The wings themselves spread across the index and ring nails, white with stark black spots and rings. The white is softened with a bit of grey shadow hinting at the venation.

personally I agree that we should indeed reject the hollow pluralism of pretending that we shouldn't judge Klan, Nazi, and sparkling eugenicist subcultures according to what they have historically produced, and would enthusiastically endorse rejecting inclusion of them in public life

A moth shaped and coloured like a broken piece of twig perched on a grey cardboard egg tray from my moth trap. It's long and thin, with mostl greyish brown flecked colouration, and a light brown wing tip and face. The main colours mimic bark and the pale brown at the ends mimic the wood inside at the broken ends of a twig. Perfect camo moth pal.

A top down view of the twig moth from previous pics, showing that it's even more twiggy from above. You can't see its legs or face. No tasty moth here, move along please birds, move along.

The most magnificent piece of twig. No, wait. It's a pale prominent moth, my bad. It's an easy mistake to make though, because this long, thin, irregularly shaped moth looks exactly like a broken bit of dried plant stem or twig. In both colour and shape I can imagine it fooling many an eagle eyed bird, lizard, or other predator. Or a human out looking for moths because I had to go get my good specs to fully appreciate it's magical-ness. Truly an utterfuckingly splendid disguise.

A top down view of the same twig mimicking moth. It seems somehow even more twiggy from this angle, so long and thin, with a mottled colour scheme that looks just like a bit of dried stem. Just amazing.

A close up on the adorable, fuzzy, yet still twig like, little face of the same twig mimicking moth. It's basically giving the end of a broken twig but fluffier. You can just about make out its thin little front legs. So delightful, honestly, I love this moth so much.

A zoomed out view of the same twig mimicking moth, sitting on a grey cardboard egg tray from my moth trap. The point here is that you don't have to go very far away for it to just look completely like a twig. Majestic camouflage, truly.

80. OK I've got my eyeballs in and it's time for moths.

And OMFGs.

Look at this absolutely legendary pale prominent moth that visited. Behold, one of the greatest twig-moths of all time!

Behold it! It's lil face!

Epic twig/bit of old stem mimicry. Perfect. No notes. What an absolute joy to see.

A magnificently fluffy brindled beauty moth, sitting on a grey cardboard egg tray from my moth trap. Its whole body and wings are fuzzy AF. Its striped in black and tan horizontal bands. It's an A+ good floofy spring moth pal. Would recommend.

A tiny but glorious little moth pal resting in a grey cardboard egg tray from my moth trap. It's kinda boxy triangle shaped, with brown wings. The wings have a distinctive black marking that looks like hebrew ink calligraphy, hence its common name is 'hebrew character'. It's body is super-fluffy because moths are basically flying kittens. A+ fuzzy moth pal.

The cover of a zine called More messages from the Moth Promotional Board, issue 2, night flight, by Moths in a Human Suit. It features two ink illustrations of moths. One is a bright yellow brimstone moth, the other a deep green emerald moth. They're both very good moth species, would recommend having them as guests in your moth trap.

Close up on a lichen covered tree trunk. Large, soft, velvety matte, fan-shaped fans lobes of greyish-lilac felt lichen spread across the bark. On top of those live a much tinier lichen with ear-shaped blue green lobes. Symbiosis on top of symbiosis. Sharing the same space are liverworts, the strands of which resemble plaited strands of burgundy and green hair. Glorious.

Good mornin/aft/evening, spoonies.

We're as persistent & symbiotic as lichen. Our community is a joy to be part of, no matter what twatulent shite the world throws us.

& We're a constant thorn in the side of fascists by our continued existence & capacity to give a crap about each other.

Thank u 💖
