Not all great news. Econ entries still female 30:70 male and largely unchanged since 2010. Campaigns like our own Discover Economics working hard to improve the diversity of those taking the subject at university. Kudos to @britishacademy.bsky.social for rapid review of the data (2/2)

* 5.5% increase in entries for Economics, vs -0.5% for all subjects, +1.5% all STEM, -1.8% for SHAPE.
* Econ now 8th most popular A-level choice in England, and 10th in UK.
* Econ entries up 36% since 2020 (1/2)
