248 US military flights over Ireland went unreported due to ‘administrative error’
Well that is some admin error - get the US military out of Shannon #USoutofShannon

Had a nap and woke to the news that Catherine Connolly is a legend. I already knew, but it's nice to be reminded on a sunny Saturday evening in a post-nap state 🤌🩷
President Connolly has travelled to Barcelona to address the 'Defence of Democracy' event, invitated by the Spanish Prime Minister and the President of Brazil.
The meeting brings together a dozen heads of state and government to confront issues of extremism, polarisation, and disinformation.
Disappointing High Court judgment today suggesting deportation of a parent is less traumatising for a baby than it would be for an older child
If only there was some history in Ireland of enforced separation between babies and parents that might have suggested a different conclusion

the most evil guy in the country wants to feed everything you've ever done into a machine that replicates you so he can eliminate you, and some people still walk around saying "well, there ARE some uses for this technology"
O’Donovan’s comments on media coverage of fuel protest ‘sinister and deeply disturbing’, NUJ says

Stay Quiet He's so sick of the TV's endless bellow, the stench of faces and mashed potatoes but Grandad never complains even as his surgery gets postponed over and over, bruises on his arms like berry compote. He knows not to stir, that one patient was murdered by another for weeping all night. My first Luas trip, a man, high or drunk, groped my grandfather's skull, giggled at his grey curls, twirled them around his knuckles before smoothing them flat as the field of maize. Grandad sat as if at a barbers and waited for the guy with a knife poking from his pocket to stagger away. All he had lost by then - his wife, seven border collies. I was shaking, nine years old, without a ticket. We're invisible, Grandad whispered.
Missed my granddad's anniversary mass this morning because I've not enough petrol to get there aha. So here's a small poem and a candle emoji 🕯️ and I'll think about him on my lil silly walk 🚶♀️
We watched the first episode at like half 12 last night. I'm really into it. Was gripped! Mike fell asleep 😁
The fuel protests in Ireland are a Trojan Horse that aim to bring fascism to Ireland. We are witnessing the birth of an Irish version MAGA. The more you look, the more obvious it is that many of the key spokesmen (and they are all men) are dangerous anti-immigrant far right agitators.Wake up.
You may feel powerless to respond to hate but you are not.
One small thing you can do, which will make a real difference, is donate to the Muslim Sisters of Éire.
I just did it, and it only takes a moment.
These incredible women show up day after day to feed unhoused people.

The "Charity begins at home" people are... *checks notes* abusing charitable people feeding homeless Irish people #spéirgorm
99% of news is just some man somewhere in the world making things worse for everybody.
Not even panic would have me out in that rain at a petrol pump 🫖📚
Novels are just comics as made by people too lazy to draw the pictures.
Due to the protest and the blocking of O’Connell Street, we are unfortunately unable to access the GPO tomorrow evening. We have made every effort to contact the organisers but have not been able to reach a lead contact. We have also spoken with the Gardaí, who currently do not have further information. With great sadness, we have to cancel tomorrow’s soup run, as we rely on access for our transit van and six cars. This is especially difficult given that we have been running this service outside the GPO for 11 years. We want to make it clear that we fully support the protest and understand the importance of standing up for change. We are also deeply concerned about the rising fuel costs and the lack of timely action. We hope that by next week we will have more information or be able to coordinate access so we can continue providing this vital service. Thank you for your understanding, and we stand with you.
The Muslim Sisters of Éire will not be able to provide their much appreciated soup run to folks in need due to the protest and the blocking of O’Connell Street.

one thing that’s clear, whether you’re right or left or whatever worldview, is that Irish people want a PROACTIVE government that DOES things, that TELLS them things, that PREPARES for things. the Irish government does absolutely none of this, it does as little as it can do, and nobody likes it.
I fully support people's right to protest but I don't support far right bullshit pretending to be about farmers and hauliers and I can't recall another protest ever being allowed to bring the city to a halt for 36 hours and still going without any consequences whatsoever

The emperor penguin has been declared an endangered species as climate change pushes the icon of Antarctica a step closer to extinction, the global authority on threatened wildlife has announced.
We have all learned a lesson here. Any future protests need to have a few tractors and claim to speak for rural Ireland and we will be able to grind the country to a halt with no state pushback
will be blocking all roads out of Navan
i have no demands, but you'll thank me later
