New post!
This week I’m digging into the influential denpa novel Shinkou Shuukyou Omoide-Kyou, my long relationship with Japanese harsh noise, and what to do in a world overrun by poisoned radio waves.
Check it out!!

I am a firm believer in you dont have to engage with something whose existence brings you no joy, but also... I will unfortunately have to watch another Yamazaki Godzilla.
My favorite part of 2.
So the police found it. Don't know what condition its in, but unsurprisingly the city charges you for towing and storage of your stolen vehicle...
This has been the most stressful move ever. Pricey too. And today I had the joy of playing my favorite Philly pastime at 5:30 am. Was my car towed or stolen? IT WAS STOLEN!!!
So if you've ever enjoyed my writing, consider this as a tip / pity jar.
Sometimes you end up disassociating for years because of trauma.
This is how I broke free from the shackles of my numbness with Smash Bros, and let myself feel anger.

Ko-fi subscriptions are the only thing standing between me and not being a writer, so if you like the thought of reading, on average, 100+ fresh articles a year covering everything from brand new releases to old favourites and so, so many untranslated games, I'm your enby:

Happy to hear it dude! Get some good rest.
Oh, I'm featured! Thank you so much!
As always, you should check out all of the pieces shared, they're all so damn good 🩷
Good luck, Baxter! I'll save my thoughts on Paranormasight for after you get out.
Fetch quests are kinda like little reminders that the world doesn’t revolve around you. Sometimes you’re just doing something little for someone else, and that’s what makes the world feel more alive.

Always meant to try it when I got into PC gaming, bit had some issues running it. Maybe 2026 will finally be the year of the Gothics.
Thanks! We're really happy with the place. It'll be nice when we're actually settled in.
Eventually...someday... I will have internet and time to publish the several pieces of writing I've been sitting on about timely things such as: the death of Anthem, Life is Strange: True Colors and Double Exposure, and also the 2009 film, Assault Girls.
My partner and I are in the process of moving in together. Happy to be in a city I actually want to stay long term. I am however, exhausted and thinking that PTO for moving should be the norm.
i booked a same-day flight to florence yesterday to be with my mom after she had a life-threatening heart event. she is very sick and remains in the ICU, and we were not prepared for anything like this. any shares and donations are so appreciated, thank you ❤️ www.gofundme.com/f/support-fo...
Heart surgery coming soon and I got a better idea of the cost (a few thousand)
Everyone has already helped so much, so DON'T feel like you have to, but if you like the stuff I do on the web, one way to say thanks is throwing a dollar to my ko-fi! It's all being set aside to help cover those costs 🙂↕️

Any attempt to button mash trough should be met with severe punishment. Make one of the corporate AI liaisons get pissy with you and steal the most valuable item from your inventory as recompense for not attentively listening to every word they say.
I think it's cool and amusing that Marathon, a very mainstream AAA game in a style not typically concerned much with narrative, tells its story trough numerous visual novel-like moments. However, I think Bungie should take things a step further. Make them unskippable.
As a certified frog, and to a lesser degree, Bulbasuar enjoyer, the stubby little legs and everything about the neck and head structure are not giving frog.
That first game is rough. Retrying it now, but it is so much of the under appreciated little touches Bioware gets right, done wrong or not at all. On top of a colonialism narrative, that does try to be critical of such, but from what I've seen, utterly fails.
Dragon Age II's 15th anniversary just passed. The broader discourse is still pretty hard on it, though folks like myself have learned to love it. Here's one of my favorite pieces of my own discussing how it, Citizen Sleeper, and The Wire handle their city based settings and the politics of them.
Baxter is correct. Watched it a couple years ago and loved it. I think there is, or at least was, a prevailing popular opinion that any live action Oshii, and all animated stuff post Jin-roh, is bad. Couldn't disagree more.
In case you haven't had a chance to listen to the latest ep, we have a patreon now! We're gonna be putting out our new hangout show The Bog Standard out over there along with some strange Blood/Milk video content? Look forward to OAM3 for more info on what that could mean www.patreon.com/BogFrogPod
Boku no Natsuyasumi 2 is the latest addition. Just kept thinking about it these last two years.
Said it before and I will say it again. Baxter is a good dude, a talented writer, and translator of many cool things. If you got some cash to spare to make a stressful time of their life a little less stressful, please do so.
I'm super curious how it'll play out in the full game. Having "end game" areas and implying player action can direct narrative to some degree is intriguing.
