4/ Yes, this includes Nintendo. #Nintendo knows just as well that they need platform services for growth (along with commercial opportunities). They are selling games to the same set of people they've been selling to for years.
3/ Spare me this nonsense that #PlayStation users actually buy games, and Xbox users are the real supporters of certain game types.
No one is actually spending more than they've normally spent in years, and most of the growth on consoles is based on platform services (an extra layer of spending).
2/ It's basically become impossible to squeeze more from the consumer on raw content sales (because gross saturation and other factors), thus they are pushing their most lucrative users to spend their cash on platform services.
1/ When it comes to consoles, #Sony and #Microsoft are asking their end users to spend as much on platform services as possible because raw content sales are about flat since 2022.
