I think this is pretty much spot on-& of course the fact he was unveiled before the clearance was received made it even worked. But I do think if he had fessed up & apologised then he would be okay. Unfortunately he chose to dig himself a hole and just kept digging

Found this in a charity shop today. Loved it in 1983 when I owned it first -& probably haven’t played it since 83…..
Also-I popped into the nearest record shop to me (10minutes on the bus)-often I’m the only customer in there-today (& it was the afternoon) there was at least a dozen-all of them buying something (apart from me)-if it keeps record shops open I’m all for it
After many years I’ve decided I don’t have a problem with it. Gives a huge amount of enjoyment to thousands & I had a discussion with a record shop owner a couple of years ago & he said it was the difference between breaking even or losing money or profitability & keeping his shop open.
